I am the sculptor of my role in this life, and the impression I make on the tapestry that is the human species. I once beheld myself as something cold, and rough to the touch, unmoldable, only a rock to withstand the turbulence of my life. What were to be fluid experiences to form something nothing short of art, I instead turned to ice, with unrelenting logic and cold concepts. The wonderful thing
about clay is that the warmth of the sculptors hands can again make it soft, only through the direct intention to create or at the very least experiment. Once my heart pierced through all of the bitter self commentary I had surrounded myself with, I realized that the kiln was on, and that the fires of truth blazed all around me. Good thing I have hope, which fits like gloves, in case it gets too hot to handle. I now feel the raw clay in my hands, the clay of the person I've helped to create. And I also have gotten used to the heat, my eyes have adjusted to the searing air, and I can see clearly what my hands have been doing. The clay, although grey and weathered, contains every color, and therefore every possibility for expression, I just need to choose the right values to gloss myself with. Who will you create?
