Alert!! the native guy at work from Peru took time off for a month today

If he took 30 days off starting today, then he would be due at work on Dec. 15, 2012 no?

Just in time to be back for the doom.

It's pretty common my my area for entire families to go home, south of the border, for part of the winter. Really drives the teachers nuts when their kids are gone for 1/2 the school year.

Not if he took 30 work days off. Then he is due back for 12/28. Provided that he works Monday - Friday.

I worked with a dude from Honduras several years ago.

The day he was leaving. he called in and said he would be back in 2 weeks.

He did this during December.

4 years later he "popped" up in the US.

My uncle-in-law (haha seriously)

is a Mexican... he does that all the time...

Wakes up leaves a note and 3 months later he is back...

no...more like maxing out his vacation pay and prep time because the last week is in between pays that he wouldn't get money for anyway ( if the event happens ) because of the 12 day delay we have...
