Seems that, when one actually does the research needed to understand the many different prophecies and religious teachings, that all cultures around the world and through out history have indicated a cataclysm or shift of some kind, that appears to point to this time frame, not just the Mayan culture. And when you look at all of the data, both man made chaos and natural disasters / phenomenon, we do seem to be escalating into some kind of change. It will be interesting to see what happens. I, for one, believe it is a warning, and when 12/21 comes and goes and people come out of their hole berating all of those who have spread the end times warnings as they get comfy back into their homes and roles of life, THEN the SWHTF. It will hit when everyone is complacent & unprepared, especially if it is coming from a government source.
I feel like we've been shown little bits and pieces of what is to come and given a date of when to be ready, and after the initial calm before the storm, things will really start escalating out of control.
Or, we could get slammed with a big rock from space that flies out of nowhere, or the earth could finally crack and expand (interesting to note the increase in EQ intensity this past week) but i'm still keeping my eye on yellowstone.
