PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RECEIPTS - THIS IS IMPORTANT

I was at Food Max last week in Bakersfield. I did ask for $40 back. He gave me my receipt but no cash. I asked for it, and he gave it to me without even an apology. The guy behind me in line said it happens all the time at that store.

I always pay cash for everything......

I check my slaes slips before I leave the store. I find everytime I visit Meijer for groceries, prices always are different than the shelves. Most of the cashiers don't care enough anyway.

last week I used the self checkout at wallmart. I paid cash with $100 bill and was shorted $10 in by the machine!

I told the clerk and she gave me the $10 back but WTF?

never trust WM again ever but I have noticed those workers that check bags when you are exiting the store are gone now.

I hated that and allways told them Ive paid for this, I own it now so piss off..

i have heard about this ESPECIALLY at walmart
their should be a criminal investigation

I pay cash for everything and I've been shorted a penny at self-serve machines at least four times at grocery stores I shop at here in Boston, three times in a week from the same self-serve machine at the Stop & Shop up the street just recently. I mentioned it to floor managers, they gave me a penny, like that's what my issue is, like I want to stand around to get a penny.

When I mentioned that this happened to us it was at Starbucks and Subway. The individuals involved were let go.

I used to work at walmart.. there is no way for the cashier to enter a cash back amount from the register.. it has to be done from the pad.. Be more careful what buttons youre pushing.

I stand aside the check out lane used, but out of the way of the next person's transaction, and review my receipt, even if I watched everything get rung up. If a price is wrong, whether found on the instant or before leaving the store, I am more than happy to wait right there until it is corrected. If it takes the checker (or supervisor) a while to figure it out, and others are in line...oh well. So goes life. If anyone in line complains (and I do sympathize), I simply let them know the checker needs to make adjustments for incorrectly input amounts. Many then just become a bit more alert; you can see it in their eyes and faces. I am always polite and patient - for as long as need be. Some people flame. I simply am content to remain for however long it takes - no, really, as long as is necessary - pleasantly, unwaveringly there.

On one hand, society tends to discount and ignore old women. On the other hand, one does so at their peril. Age has taught patience that would make a glacier seem rash.

Yeah, my brother's fiance warned me about this scam about 6 mos. ago. I guess it's still alive and well. DEFINITELY CHECK THOSE RECEIPTS. Thanks for the second heads-up!

just press the "CREDIT" button

in most cases you also get points and rewards through your bank when using the Credit option and there is no Cash back option when you select it

These days you need to count your returned cash, desperate times for some.

Also, I have had a teller tell me there was zero balance
on a WalMart gift card and did I want to throw it away? I said no, thinking, there was money on the card. I came home and checked the balance online and there was a lot of money on the card. I never ask checkers to check my gift card
balance anymore...do it online yourself. I am sure, had I
given my gift card over, the teller would have pocketed it.

That Wal-Mart must have a different setup from the one I shop at. At mine, the customer must punch in whether they want cash back on the pad where they swipe their card. The cashier doesn't punch that in or even handle the card.

No one seems to have noticed this yet. This has been around for a while now.

Good advice. I never pay attention to my receipts. In fact I ask them to trash them. I should be much more cognizant.
