DOOM ON!!! HOSTESS TO CLOSE (announce tomorrow morning!)

The one place we CANNOT get rid of the unions -- among public employees -- is the one place they SHOULD NOT BE at all.

I'm ambivalent about these private unions. If it was a win/win for management and labor, then I see nothing wrong with the workers making more than the absolute worldwide minimum (all costs included) for their jobs. It promotes a decent life for them. And if we're all forced to the minimum, there won't be much middle class. On the other hand maybe these unions are unsustailable. As I said, I'm ambivalent.

Forget about those Twinks. Obama wants u in shape for the draft....

Not many of us can say we will not miss them, even if it is junk/snack foods. Kind of reminds me of Table Talk Pie company that we never hear of that sold small pies in cardboard little boxes.

Perhaps if they made some equally wholesome snacks they would succeed...I have a wholesome family recipe that they could do easily but all in all it is up to them, do they want jobs or not???

The company will reopen as a non union shop and then the new employees making minimum wage will qualify for food stamps.

Will that work for ya?

Precisely what might happen. They will liquidate, and reopen in right to work states without unions.

No more Twinkies -- oh the humanities...

Can they fire the lot of them, and rehire workers for $8.00 an hour?
