I have absolutely no doubt there are aliens observing and studying us. Think of the size of our galaxy. And the number of habitable planets that circle countless billions of stars. Out of all those habitable planets millions of intelligent species have learned to live in peace with themselves and their technology. Given enough time, their technology would certainly advance to the point where they could travel the stars. Consider how far our technology has advanced in the past century. Imagine how far advanced it would be in a thousand years. Or a million. That is, if we manage not to destroy ourselves. I'm sure they are quite curious as to our destructive behavior.
