Re: Police Commissioner Elections In UK Fail Badly
UKIP Polling third nationally. May even be 2nd in Corby where the Lib Dem vote so low they lost the deposit.

Really looking like UKIP may come first in the EURO elections instead of 2nd like last time, and may come third in the next GENERAL election, which could end up in a hung parliament again.

For the americans reading this thread.

This guy and his party are again polling higher than the political party of the current deputy prime minister of the uk.

They may even be polling as high as 14/15% in some areas.

Biggest turnout so far is a tie between Northumbria and Dyfed-Powys with 16.4%. 2 Independents have won so far but both are former police chiefs.

I think thats good, i think a lot of people probably voted for the best person for the jobs, which in many cases was an independent candidate.

These PCC's if we must have them should be free of political affiliation.

But its still interesting that every time there is a poll or a vote now UKIP get stronger and stronger.

I think its lowish nationally, might only be about 8 or 9% of those who voted. But its higher than the lib Dems nationally i believe.

However in some areas its as high as 15%.

Seems like the people made their wishes known, and with low turnout it has benefited everybody by keeping these public school career politicians out of the job of telling the police force what to do.

Interesting times.

I think if people are honest UKIP will be lucky to get an MP next election. Shit seems to be changing though.

If the TORIES want to stay in power they are going to have to ditch the Lib Dems and form an alliance with UKIP to stop labour getting in. They may have to drop out of the running in certain areas to give chance of a UKIP win, and UKIP may have to do the same.

They will have to cast iron give UKIP a referendum on europe, but what worries me is economically it may be too late for us to leave europe.

I really cant see this happening because for the tories to stay in it would probably require they keep the same number of seats but UKIP steals seats from the LIB's and LAB, which i cannot see happening at enough of a level to form a coalition with the tories next election.

It would probably require 25 UKIP MP's for a CON/UKIP coalition.

But imagine, Nigel Farage as deputy Prime minster and Boris Johnson as Prime Minister!

Not technically likely but not impossible if people ditch Labour/Lib for UKIP.

i switched to ukip for the first time in the recent london local elections

mainly for their stance on europe

lots of people are switching from labour and tory, and it will keep happening, because the eu and the problems it causes arent going away

im not sure why people think that farage was once a business man that he is just part of the system and controlled opposition

people either discount and mock ukip because they fear it, or wish to skim off votes (in the case of bnp), which wont happen, because ukip people are generally right of centre or libertarian, and bnp are a nationalist socialist party - despite the left insisting they are far right. same with hitler - labelled far right and yet was a national socialist. the nazi party started life as the workers party - hardly a bunch of right-wingers

sorry, i am preaching to the choir, haha

im not surprised at the low turnout. when do we ever have a decently HIGH high turnout?

people are generally ill-informed and lazy. i say this because if their lack of voting was somehow a protest on the state of democracy in general, then they would show up and write their message on the ballot

yeah, all a bit messy really

the tories and dems with go their separate ways come the GE, the dems will get slaughtered. theyre only in power coz the tories needed them to shore things up. they could have formed a minority govt but how long would that last?

there has been talk of certain tories wanting to hook up with ukip. just need a few of them to jump ship and things might get rolling that way. i find that easier to imagine somehow than there being an official alliance

i want cameron gone, he is desperate to get his ticket on the gravy train, as are most of them across all parties

why do you think it may be too late to leave europe? i really really do not think we have anything whatsoever to gain by staying, and by leaving, at least in the immediate future, we get our sovereignty back. thats what matters. without that, we are sunk forever

I agree completely.

I'm not happy with UKIP stance on a number of issues, but i agree that EUROPE is a burden, immigration is a burden, we should be keeping defense at the levels it was meant to be at and not cutting it, and we should be saving money on EUROPE and cutting shit that matters like too much bureaucracy in the NHS, and increased welfare spending on these scumbags who wont go out and work and live off the state etc

Nobody cares. Pick which of the following tossers is going to be given the job of overseeing(defending + justifying the actions of) the biggest force of tossers in the country. The laws we have over here are full on retard and the police are afraid of going after the proper scum.

What i mean by that is, we could very well end up like Greece by the time the next election comes.

Three more years of this recession will bite the poor hard and will probably cause civil unrest.

I can honestly see Europe in chaos and massive civil unrest in Spain/Portugal/France and Nazis in power in Greece.
