Exactly. The war machine is a corporation. It purposely has a single goal. just like a fiscal corporation. maximize benefit for itself, at any cost. See scandals of generals who could full well afford hookers, but tapped women on the payroll.

As the OP stated, the only thing that stops war is war weariness. Not another army. Not cease fires. Not elder statesmen. Not technological advancement (always a big excuse for the war machine). Even exhausting the resources/ideals purportedly contested does not stop war.

The US is the only country that can sustain total permanent war on terra. The spelling/pronunciation was not incorrect. It is permanent war on earth brought in by the neo-cons of BOTH US political parties.

The oldsters will remember back in 2002, and 2006 when the US government sent out $600 checks to every man woman and child. They told us the economy was terrible. I am not very smart, but I think the economy is about 100 times worse, but no checks.
