Re: 18,000 workers just lost a job Hostess just called it they will shut down
The Hedgies -- Monarch and Silver Point -- will walk away from this with TENS OF MILLIONS IN PROFIT, and the workers just wanted the wages and bennies back that they gave up 3 years ago to HELP THE COMPANY.

So the workers tried to help the company 3 years ago by taking massive cuts. That didn't work, Hostess still filed their 1st bankruptcy.

So even when the workers agreed to cuts, they still got fucked....tell me how this is all the workers' faults again?

Remember, management will now walk away from 2 BANKRUPTCYS with tens of millions of dollars.

You seem to be raging about a simple reaction by management.

It doesn't make it right but all companies do it, you will probably see starbucks do it in your lifetime.

Stop trying to convince everyone that the world turns on love because it doesn't, people work for their own inherent reasons, not to help the little guy. If you need proof, have you ever had a poor person or family hire you to install a new kitchen, or mahogany wood floors? Don't get mad think about that, it's a two sided duality of man kind of thing. A singularity mentality will never change simple human nature.

By the way, boasting on the internet about how financially awesome you are is a dead giveaway.

Unions---pfffft----I've done a lot of things in my career from construction to manufacturing and never once worked for a union shop. If I had I wouldn't be able to build a home from foundation to finish. I wouldn't be able to program and operate CNC punches, lasers and brake presses. I wouldn't even know flat patter development. I wouldn't be able to program, set-up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, wire edm's using cad and cam software, you know that easy SolidWorks, MasterCam and Gibbs. I also wouldn't be able to develop and prove fixturing and production runs from procurement of perishable to filing of completed PO's. I could go on and on. What's GD&T precious, whats ISO and AS9000 revC.

Why,

because a union shop would keep me and you in one spot doing one thing and never do deviate from that spot unless given permission by a village. FUCK THAT

All that and I never got paid the wage of a GM spot welder making 36 bucks an hour. Drones

Michelle Obama's way of preventing fat children ..

This sucks .. there is a hostess store near me that sells all kinds of bread products, that are cheap and fresh .. baked in the store I think .. two friends also sold out their other trucks and runs, to buy into and work for hostess .. I take it they will, or have already lost their jobs ..

Companies and businesses don't 'owe' their employees anything. It is not the business owners job to provide work for anyone. The business owners job is to make money, period. This whole entitlement mentality is getting really, really, old.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27864482

keeping management in-check is bad?

Your correct, management doesn't HAVE TO do anything, however, they wouldn't be walking away with their tens of millions after 2 BKs if it weren't for the workers.

You're fine with that philosophy?

"Simple reaction by management"?

You mean to go through 2 BKs and still "earn" $125K per month on the backs of the people you ultimately plan on fucking over and firing?

Sounds almost illegal...at the very least it's corruption unchecked. The unions simply wanted to keep it in check somewhat via negotiation.

Don't forget, they filed BK TWICE, and still took $125K PER MONTH. How does that math work???

A little more info.

The workers at this plant get $30.00 per hour plus bennies. The work is very low skilled labor meaning “pick this up…take to that tank…poor in”

One other thing. This morning most of the white union workers were inside the plant working and 90% of the black union workers were outside on the picket line

Re: 18,000 workers just lost a job Hostess just called it they will shut down
well stupid fucking unions are to thank for that

you cannot strong arm a company into paying you what it doesn't fucking have!
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

And that is what a lot of people are failing to understand. There is always this feeling among many that the companies have lots of money and are just being cheap bastards. These days many companies are hurting............... I simply cannot feel sorry for these morons. Millions out of work and they push things past the point of no return.

Where theres union worker factories, theres usually abundance of stripper bars too. The whores like to set up shop and take all that money. I lived in a town like that and the strippers ran amok, drugs and g strings poking out of their jeans when they went shopping in town, Women meeting Johns at the gas station parking lot to charge 300 for a full night of sex. They had no shortage of clients. It really mucked up our town. Kids were afraid to play outside alone. On a good note from all this, its good to see them dry up too, no working mens salaries to leech off of .

Speaking of bimbos ...

I've noticed the Mexican baking company, Bimbo, selling products in the USA recently.

They might buy those former Hostess factories and reopen them.

Betcha Bimbo pays high union wages. NOT.

Bimbo is a huge company ! and that might be a possibility, people snicker when they see Bimbo Bread, lol..

We will have to wait and see..

The work is very low skilled labor meaning “pick this up…take to that tank…poor in”

But without a worker to do that the company makes.......????

ummm NOTHING!!!!

But it's way out of line to pay someone $75 per hour to do it.

Drones
 Quoting: MultiStrada

"Simple reaction by management"?

You mean to go through 2 BKs and still "earn" $125K per month on the backs of the people you ultimately plan on fucking over and firing?

Sounds almost illegal...at the very least it's corruption unchecked. The unions simply wanted to keep it in check somewhat via negotiation.

Don't forget, they filed BK TWICE, and still took $125K PER MONTH. How does that math work???
 Quoting: JackedVegan

Dude, I think the 36 buck an hour spot welder is greedy.
Just as greedy as anybody who takes from anything. I believe unions are greedy.
 Quoting: MultiStrada

$36/hr is about $75K/yr.

You're comparing that to $125K per month?

That's not even in the same universe!

So you think greed is okay as long as management does it, right?
 Quoting: JackedVegan

How many managers are there per 75k employee in your equation?

What I was saying is they think they can strike and expect to make 30 per hour for manual labor? Give me a break! They should have been thankful to have a high paying very low skilled job.

The unions drove up the cost of labor to the point of…fuck it we will close the plant…. Wow that worked out well for everybodynorespect
