Michelle Obama's way of preventing fat children ..

This sucks .. there is a hostess store near me that sells all kinds of bread products, that are cheap and fresh .. baked in the store I think .. two friends also sold out their other trucks and runs, to buy into and work for hostess .. I take it they will, or have already lost their jobs ..

Awww, poor baby can't come up with a retort...

LOL! You see, personal attacks won't work on me, fuckface.

I earn almost twice a year what the Hostess management earned per week...so I'm doing just fine, and living large.

However, I'm not doing it by fucking over piddly line workers who ALREADY TOOK MASSIVE CUTS JUST 3 YEARS AGO, like the Hostess management did.

So trying to keep management in-check is irrational?

Who are you, David Rockefeller?
 Quoting: JackedVegan

No I am not David Rockefeller, just someone who generally buys into the core assumption of microeconomics -- that each individual is rational if they maximize their own individual expected utility. This means no bonus points for reducing someone else's (i.e. Schadenfreude.)

But it probably didn't matter, it seems likely that this management was hired and paid to shut the company down. Obamacare in, Hostess out!

This "JackVegan" character is EXACTLY why correcting the Demographic imbalance of this country is necessary.
 Quoting: AdHocBOHICA

"Overall, Hostess lost $341 million in fiscal 2011, 2½ times the loss of the prior year -- and by early 2012, primarily because of burgeoning interest obligations, its debt had grown to about $860 million.

As revenue declined, the company continued to burn cash -- in the second half of 2011, the rate was $2 million a week. The liquidity crunch forced Ripplewood in the early spring of 2011 to pump in $40 million more in return for more equity as well as debt that was subordinate to that held by Silver Point and Monarch. In August -- to save a company teetering on the edge of fiscal calamity and forced liquidation -- Silver Point, Monarch, and the group of other lenders put up an additional $30 million to see if a negotiated turnaround was possible."

LOL!! So, dumbass, you agree with burning good money to chase bad money like this?? Even though Hostess cut union workers bennies and wages DRASTICALLY just 3 years ago, the management decided to borrow $30 MILLION MORE, while STILL PAYING MANAGEMENT $125k PER MONTH!

All while Bankrupt!!

And you say the workers are the problem?

Thank you. You have proved convincingly that the owners could have had no other goal than to shut the company down. Therefore they hired management with the task of making it happen.

It's cheaper and easier if the workers strike themselves out of a job, and that is what was accomplished. The owners think the money paid to management was worth it to achieve their goal so cleanly.

Now, why would owners suddenly want to close the business? What has changed recently? I suspect Obamacare.

There is no doubt that the excutives are making way too much money but at the same time if your working the line at Hostess there a few things that need to be pointed out.

A. Your life dreams probably didnt pan out.

2. You are a unskilled employee, anyone could perform your job with little to no training.

4. If your making anything over 12 bucks an hour w/benefits you should keep your fucking mouth shut, clock in and do your job. If you wanna make more money work harder than the next person, this world doesnt owe you shit!

And yes, I have proven in this thread -- many times over -- that it was management that fucked Hostess NOT the workers.

The workers aren't even capable of shuttin down such a huge operation...not even close.

Again, the workers already took a cut in pay and bennies just 3 YEARS AGO! The management kept borrowing while bankrupt, and earning HUGE FUCKING SALARIES!

Yes, it's a well known idea to run up the credit card before declaring bankruptcy. Pay cash dividends to the owners, who move that money safely out of harm's way, then look out below!

It is a nasty system, but the lender is corrupt to make a loan in that case. If the company has big labor problems, it's diseased within and lending to it is inherently risky. Yes I know that doesn't show up probably in traditional "credit scoring", and it's way too hot to handle politically, but still it's the truth.

Capitalism and the annual bonus ... indeed a corrupt system.

Be that as it may, this was the system in which the workers found themselves. I'd say they took the bait and now the trap is closed.

Yes, you see, the management and workers' jobs were not comparable at all. They were not even working with the same goal. Management was trying to shut the company down without recourse for lawsuits, internal damage, etc. Workers wanted to continue working there and get their pay, benefits and pensions.

Now the workers lost, but the move was predictable. I can understand the feelings of the workers. I tried striking once myself (it's pretty funny and it didn't work out well for me.) But don't the unions have professional negotiators who are supposed to understand this game theory stuff?

The Hedgies -- Monarch and Silver Point -- will walk away from this with TENS OF MILLIONS IN PROFIT, and the workers just wanted the wages and bennies back that they gave up 3 years ago to HELP THE COMPANY.

So the workers tried to help the company 3 years ago by taking massive cuts. That didn't work, Hostess still filed their 1st bankruptcy.

So even when the workers agreed to cuts, they still got fucked....tell me how this is all the workers' faults again?

Remember, management will now walk away from 2 BANKRUPTCYS with tens of millions of dollars.

If the facilities have any value, this is the way management wanted to go out of business. The workers were no doubt locked out, or at least voluntarily outside the facilities, unable to do any damage.

Re: 18,000 workers just lost a job Hostess just called it they will shut down
That's not a union's intent.

Unions' intentions are just to level the playing field as much as possible with overgrown, bloated management.

Hostess management EARNED $125K PER MONTH WHILE BANKRUPT -- why are you anti-union tards not addressing that!!??
 Quoting:

The management made 15,000,000 a year? Ooook.

That aside, it is the owners business, not the unions, not the employees. Period.

Hold on, you're fine with that?

You do realize the workers are people, with families, bills, and obligations, right?

They had no clue that management was taking them on a fucking ride to no where.

Hostess filed bankruptcy TWICE! The management will still profit MILLIONS.

That sounds like a fine system to you?

It's not a bankruptcy, it's liquidating.
