This has been in the making for 40 years, the economy is not collapsing due to one mans policies, the manufacturing base was not lost in America due to one president. American workers did not become the most spoiled, well paid population in the world overnight, The derivitives market did not reach 650 trillion in a few years, Debt did not overpower GDP due to a presidents decisions. Americans expect to be taken care of by their government, expect sick days, vacation, insurance, holidays off, unemployment insurance, coffee breaks. We are entitled and dillusional. We have no idea how to stop expecting what we have always known and it will be our demise. Hostess is a good expmple today... The unions have destroyed america and we have made this bed we now are being forced to lay in. History is clear, and the refusal of americans to learn history is what will insure our repeating it.

The union should use the Twinkie as their logo fluffy and full of s_it. I hope the union drones are happy being out of work. They don't take the risk that the leadership does and yet gets greedy with their demands and shuts the company down. Brilliant move. Stupidity from the union leadership can be blamed along with their lemming followers. One more group of workers added to the double digit unemployment lines. Obama so loved the poor, he gave us millions more.

Even if you could get back the 56,000 factories closed since 2001, I doubt you could find enough people to work in them. The gen xers, and millineum gen are opposed to hard work or manual labor. Getting sweaty is not their idea of a good job. Degrees in Liberal arts and Buisness, we were told to go to college and get a good job so that we did not have to work as hard as our parents and grandparents did. That is why we have no farmers, no innovation. The last thing america invented was Spanks. Our number one export is Trash, number two is the dollar. We have off-shored our manufacturing base, we have allowed the idustrial centers to collapse and rust, the UAW and Teamsters insured that big buisness would leave this country as it is impossible to pay the labor here. We score at the bottom of the industrial world in Math, Science, and history. We have 4.8% of the world population and 25% of the world prisoners... free labor! Wake up people this is the end of Empire.

Ahh, yes. This was a totally different country in the 1970's. The troubling thing is that we had a bad economy in the 1970's, yet it looks 100X better than what we have now. Thanks for bringing that up.

I hope I am wrong, but this just may be the start of the domino effect for businesses. With additional taxes, unions and Obamacare, more companies will find it financially impossible to continue. More company layoffs and closures.

And these unemployed sheep will continue to vote for morons like Obama, and whine for their fair share from their daddy the government.

Ive lived in a Union town where 70 percent of the people worked for the main factory..

People are hard pressed to give up the lifestyle they were accustomed to. Do you simply downgrade without emotion? Move from the nice middle class home to the trailer? Give back your newer car to the dealership? and buy a 10 year used?

Sadly, there will be a lot of divorces thru this..

70s was walk into a shop and get hired on the spot. Any business start ups too made back then is worth multi million today. Id give up one of my limbs to go back to the 70s...they had it good.

The issue is an 8% pay cut that would be paid back over a 3 year period.

Union leaders thought they were calling hostess's bluff.

Union dumbfucks will make 50% of their wages on unemployment. And nothing after that.
