smokahontas User ID: 23237790 United States 11/16/2012 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This has been in the making for 40 years, the economy is not collapsing due to one mans policies, the manufacturing base was not lost in America due to one president. American workers did not become the most spoiled, well paid population in the world overnight, The derivitives market did not reach 650 trillion in a few years, Debt did not overpower GDP due to a presidents decisions. Americans expect to be taken care of by their government, expect sick days, vacation, insurance, holidays off, unemployment insurance, coffee breaks. We are entitled and dillusional. We have no idea how to stop expecting what we have always known and it will be our demise. Hostess is a good expmple today... The unions have destroyed america and we have made this bed we now are being forced to lay in. History is clear, and the refusal of americans to learn history is what will insure our repeating it. I hope the union drones are happy being out of work. They don't take the risk that the leadership does and yet gets greedy with their demands and shuts the company down. Brilliant move. Stupidity from the union leadership can be blamed along with their lemming followers. One more group of workers added to the double digit unemployment lines. Obama so loved the poor, he gave us millions more. Quoting: digger 2311172 Ive lived in a Union town where 70 percent of the people worked for the main factory.. People are hard pressed to give up the lifestyle they were accustomed to. Do you simply downgrade without emotion? Move from the nice middle class home to the trailer? Give back your newer car to the dealership? and buy a 10 year used? Sadly, there will be a lot of divorces thru this.. I guess they took a gamble. The current American wages for their skills is at half of what they made prior if they are lucky.. |

Quoting: JackedVegan Yeah, wouldn't want the assembly line scrubs making a decent wage, eh fuckstick? What's wrong with leveling the playing field? That's what the unions try to do. Do you want rampant, unchecked corporate CEOs? What if a government were run the same way --- unchecked? fucking I am in the middle here. Unions are greedy and corrupt and management wants their workers living like they do in china. There's got to be some middle ground here, folks. The real problem is the early union contracts that many corps had to sign in the 70's. Ahh, yes. This was a totally different country in the 1970's. The troubling thing is that we had a bad economy in the 1970's, yet it looks 100X better than what we have now. Thanks for bringing that up. 70s was walk into a shop and get hired on the spot. Any business start ups too made back then is worth multi million today. Id give up one of my limbs to go back to the 70s...they had it good. |

Our eyes are too big for our stomach. Young people want it all now. I even knew a young person that had to have the new PT cruiser when it came out. She used it and ragged out the life of the car for pizza delivery out of all things, while going to school, probaly for her liberal arts degree, lol dumb, dumb, dumb... |

Way to go union dip shits. You killed your golden goose. Quoting: Resister Obamacare costs probably added to the company's willingness to call it all off. Obamavoter: "Thanks to Obama, my employer will have to take care of me better!" Employer of obamavoter: "We must work strategically to avoid overpaying for this human resource." I hope I am wrong, but this just may be the start of the domino effect for businesses. With additional taxes, unions and Obamacare, more companies will find it financially impossible to continue. More company layoffs and closures. And these unemployed sheep will continue to vote for morons like Obama, and whine for their fair share from their daddy the government. Sounds like the early death knell for WalMart. Woo Hoo!
