Now it is time to stand with our President, united, to pursue policies which create jobs, strengthen the middle class, close the gap between the rich and poor, and fortify this nation’s labor laws.” [link to guildfreelancers.org] |

If we had listened to the labor unions when the federal government was passing laws which gave tax advantages to corporations which shipped American jobs over seas we would be incredibly better off now. I suspect that most of the critics are just parroting the words big corporations and big MSM tell you. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 5788499 United Kingdom 11/16/2012 12:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | knew a auto union guy. he installed glass. was standing around with nothing to do so he went to the line beside him to help work on seats or something. big fat ugly union goon ran up to him yelling and screaming. told him to never touch another seat because that was not his job. union goon told him to go back and don't worry about not having anything to do, just stand at his station until his shift was over. flash over to russia. the commies would sit at their desks with their keyboards turned over and their heads down until someone would bring them some work. then they would flip their keyboard over and work. when done they would go back to their turned over keyboard and heads down position. this is the face of socialism, coming to a country near you. us private business ain't gonna go for it thus they are raising prices and laying off workers to cope with the socialist government's hand reaching deeper into their pockets and the socialist workers attitude. or they will just shut down completely. why should business owners bust ass and take risks only to have their pockets picked clean by the freaking commies? better to invest in Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) or Zero Coupon bonds then go take a relaxing cruise while drinking Pina Coladas and watching some dancing girls. obama phones are just the beginning and business knows it. look at where stock prices have gone since the election. the us is moving in the exact wrong direction. to bring back prosperity there needs to be a strong surge in free enterprise and smaller government. instead the country is moving away from some of the basic principals that made the united states great. rather than encouraging self reliance with rewards for good ideas and hard work, they are creating an entitlement society unraveling the very fabric of the nation. |

From that article.................. "Worse, as the company tried to reinvent itself in 2009 and 2010, external currents were running against it. The Great Recession hurt many consumer brands generally, and the prices of the commodities that Hostess relied on -- corn, sugar, flour -- went up, which is the opposite of what's supposed to happen in a downturn. In addition, the bakery industry underwent more consolidation when Sara Lee sold out to Bimbo". Proof that TPTB are fixing the prices of everything. Expect a big fail here soon as price controls in a supposed free and open market will fail as soon as the infinitely and continuous printed script is rejected. |

Redpaw360 User ID: 11235712 United States 11/16/2012 01:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Hedgies -- Monarch and Silver Point -- will walk away from this with TENS OF MILLIONS IN PROFIT, and the workers just wanted the wages and bennies back that they gave up 3 years ago to HELP THE COMPANY. Quoting: JackedVegan So the workers tried to help the company 3 years ago by taking massive cuts. That didn't work, Hostess still filed their 1st bankruptcy. So even when the workers agreed to cuts, they still got fucked....tell me how this is all the workers' faults again? Remember, management will now walk away from 2 BANKRUPTCYS with tens of millions of dollars. You seem to be raging about a simple reaction by management. It doesn't make it right but all companies do it, you will probably see starbucks do it in your lifetime. Stop trying to convince everyone that the world turns on love because it doesn't, people work for their own inherent reasons, not to help the little guy. If you need proof, have you ever had a poor person or family hire you to install a new kitchen, or mahogany wood floors? Don't get mad think about that, it's a two sided duality of man kind of thing. A singularity mentality will never change simple human nature. By the way, boasting on the internet about how financially awesome you are is a dead giveaway. Unions---pfffft----I've done a lot of things in my career from construction to manufacturing and never once worked for a union shop. If I had I wouldn't be able to build a home from foundation to finish. I wouldn't be able to program and operate CNC punches, lasers and brake presses. I wouldn't even know flat patter development. I wouldn't be able to program, set-up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, wire edm's using cad and cam software, you know that easy SolidWorks, MasterCam and Gibbs. I also wouldn't be able to develop and prove fixturing and production runs from procurement of perishable to filing of completed PO's. I could go on and on. What's GD&T precious, whats ISO and AS9000 revC. Why, because a union shop would keep me and you in one spot doing one thing and never do deviate from that spot unless given permission by a village. FUCK THAT All that and I never got paid the wage of a GM spot welder making 36 bucks an hour. Drones Jack Vegan will soon realize that any company looking into his background will not hire him. Union workers from Hostess will never see employment again because as a small business owner, why would I hire someone bent on doing the least and expect the most?, bent on driving my company that I built into a union force saddled with 10 different healthcare policies. Union mentality is doing one job, with no room for moving up the ladder for the worker, no room for a worker to learn a new field within his company without the company covering those costs. If my employees want a better life and job guarantee, they need to find inefficiencies within the company that better the company and not straddle me with 4 new people to do a single job. I don't hire democrats, or union workers, or anyone coming from a company that expects more than they are earning for less than what I can pay. You stand around, you're fired. I had four of my technicians that worked at Hostess 40 + a week… so we got word this morning that we needed to be off site “tools people everything” by 10AM so I went down there…. Well some of the strikers were still there with really puzzled looks… they seems shell shocked…. The union really sold them down the river The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. |
