Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7715336 Actually I can not, when really looking at all the details of a job it requires two arms to do the work. I have looked at everything the past month and nothing in my area I can do with one arm. Its sad I have thought about a ton of jobs recently and I cannot do anything with the pace a company would want with one arm. Ya gotta love these assholes who want to force disabled workers to compete with unemployed able bodied individuals who don't qualify for anything. They all must belong to some radical gang of sadistic political fukwits. 27 with no other health problems than a lost arm? War vets do it all the time. Why can't she? Employers are forced by federal law to accomidate for disabled workers. She could sue a company for discrimination if they had a job she qualified for but did not hire her based on her non-functioning limb. MORE MONEY!!! Go for it! Disabled war vets also get disability... not to mention free health care. It isn't deduction from their earnings if they choose to work, either. Just thought you needed to know that. Exactly - disability covers only so much. If you CAN work and want more then the ADA is enforcable. Though a great loss, if only one limb is toast but all else is ok - you have a (pardon the pun) leg up on the competition to land a job. Those who CAN work should. Sitting and doing nothing will kill you slowly. IF she can work - and only one limb lost at 27 years old - she should be able to - then do it!! Stop feeling sorry for yourself! Get your disability and then get any job you CAN do. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 455519 United States 11/16/2012 02:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Apparently people don't realize how bad our country is. I keep seeing people call others names and tell them to get a job. Just for some info....I was the manager of an optical store, I made 22 an hour plus benefits, when I was laid off cause the business was being sold and there was no place for me. I have been unemployed now for 3 months, had to move to my inlaws to not have bills. They are a blessing if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have internet to search for work.(was going to library before moving) I have had a job since I was 16(now 33) and have paid plenty of taxes to get a little assistance. I have chosen not to get welfare but do receive food. When your life has fallen apart and you can't buy cloths, pay rent or utilities, gas for car or diapers it really a true blessing for me to be able to cook a meal for my child. I find it funny people say get a job, I have tried (352 application to be exact) yes I keep track. I. Have applied for everything McDonald's, pizza hut and gas stations. I finally will be going to an interview tomorrow (cracker barrel ) it is very hard and disheartening to be in this situation. So to all who name call and insult....I pray this never happens to you or your family....noone should go through this....ever! Don't assume you know a persons circumstance. It. Was funny someone tried insulting me, he was a waiter who makes less then minimum wage and only reports enough tips to make minimum wage, he was living with his parents still and has most likely paid less taxes in his whole life then I did in 5 years of my life. There is already enough selfishness and greed in this country why can't people see what it is doing to us. Believe me I know there are people who suck off the system but there is no reason to judge all who need. Or call complete strangers names, its just not....polite. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21268743 TY for sharing...blessings to you, yours and all those having to deal with the same or similar situations. |

Many families found themselves on assistance programs that had never had to use them before because of jobs being cut, pay being cut etc. Last Edited by Guenwyfar on 11/16/2012 02:54 PM Guenwyfar "Karma is like a rubberband.. it can only stretch so far before it comes back and smacks you in the face."
