| Captain Spaulding User ID: 25855571 11/16/2012 04:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is it a crew of 28 an average number of people to shut down an oil platform. Just wondering, I thought I'd seen far less in the past. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26143620 It only takes a full time crew of three to four people to run all the hundreds of wells on each platform. Except when they have to drill or other special crews are needed. Then they come and go as needed. One of my oldest and best friends (I'm 54, known him since I was 16) works on a platform in the Santa Barbara channel. 7 days on, 7 off. Lovin' life. Six figures and 6 months of work. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21155409 Beware the red herring. don't know to much about way of usa as i have not lived here long but what is a red herring Big distraction, makes you look one way when the real deal is going on in another direction. That sounds about right. No doom here. Wonder how much they were paid? or what was promissed for their efforts? Seems to be over. Wonder what was going on elsewhere that they didnt want seen or reported? Probably something involving fire, or bursts of fire, or people who were burned, so they could say it was the rig fir people saw, or people going to hospital were from the rig fire. Maybe a sub on fire? Last Edited by BadHairDay on 11/16/2012 06:32 PM It's all about the 'vibe'. |
