Banks may shrink for good as layoffs near 160,000
Major banks have announced some 160,000 job cuts since early last year and with more layoffs to come as the industry restructures, many will leave the shrinking sector for good as redundancies outpace new hires by roughly two-to-one.

A Reuters analysis of job cuts announced by 29 major banks showed the layoffs were much bigger in Europe than in Asia or the United States. That is a particular blow to Britain where the finance industry makes up roughly 10 percent of the economy.

The tally of nearly 160,000 job cut plans, meanwhile, is likely to be a conservative estimate as smaller banks and brokers are also cutting staff or shutting up shop, and bigger banks have not always disclosed target numbers of layoffs.

This could be the sucking-out of the remaining lifeforce that 'high street banks' have left. Is this good though? We need to ask ourselves this:

Who will be left to control money, debt and wealth creation when the banks we all recognise vanish? Because the world will still continue to use some form of currency...

If you have not yet seen this very heartening and beautifully written and directed documentary, i suggest you put some time aside amidst the arrival of new wars and violence, and absorb this summery of all that is going on in this world today, and how we might start to change things.

Wait, if banks create money from thin air then why the need to consolidate? LOL

Sure, but we have to encourage support from middle class business by selling them small business loans. No derivatves just plain old collateral security.

Bill gates and his kind might soon see a devaluation in their fortunes. Theres a right time to begin all things new. The time will come for us one day, to buy back what was always ours. Let him keep what he worked for. Everyone has their right to earn according to their works. The less privilaged in the human race just needs to see where the benefit is in investing in a better world, more fairly run.

Gates doesn't care if he loses his fortune, he already gave it to charity (when he dies)...as long as he has his mind he can make it back...my point was that he alone could start a bank, but with 6 billion investors at $10/share your bank couldn't turn a profit...

Well, my point is largely about changing the view about what is valuable whilst at the same time, borrowing a few of the tips that has allowed the money controlers to grab control of our world. Dont know really that many are ready to see the bigger picture from a 10 dollar risk. But this small investment could produce a modest retirement fund that would be good enough to feel comfortable with and, at the same time, knowing that together, we are claiming back some control while helping our own businesses flourish. The rate of that flouishing perpetuates wealth in its own right.

Borrowing money is not the key to building wealth...once people realize that then banks won't be needed and people won't be so greedy and climb into debt. Bankers aren't the greed ones, it's the ones that suck their dick for their cash who are greedy...

I will just put it all in a nutshell..

Right now, we are run by the corporations. Lets stick an 'o' in that and change it to cooperations!

Take care all.
