I'm not sure if there is ship to ship relay like iridium, but all my calls terminate in the UK so it would stand to reason that the others in the fleet (Inmarsat) are alive as well. Also the uplink depends on GPS constellation for spot beam selection.. That worked fine too also tried uplink to BGAN over same bird, strong signal and no problems. |

Inmarsat satcom :ok NAVSTAR :ok XM weather and radio :ok Shortwave WWCR :ok FTA: ok Certainly ONE of those systems or their dependencies would be affected.. Doom off |

That's a GOOD question, I have no idea. One would assume a scintillation counter or similar instrument could be easily fitted to the bird and be given a downlink channel in telemetry... Perhaps even interference experienced by the main mission antennas could be sensed as well.. But to be honest, I don't know.. Have to ask |

From spaceweather.com: "The blast hurled a CME into space, but the cloud does not appear to be heading for Earth." ... And btw, when a flare happen, you don't feel the effect on earth (or his orbit) right away, it take hours or days. I also call bs on this thread, maybe you have one or two satellites not working at full potential but all others are fine |
