No one is nice, common courtesy is completely nonexistent, no one says hi, please, thank you, excuse me. No one smiles. I've grown up in small towns my whole life where people are nice, genuine and courteous. The other day a lady let the door slam in my face as I was walking out of the store, now I didn't really expect her to hold it for me as I know not to expect that here but at least make sure I have the door first (I had my hands full) People let hate spread like a virus. People where I live -THE EQ zone of NZ (I stopped counting at 10,100 EQs) are actually pretty sane. If stressed. I think there are pockets of crazies-I can think of a few- and pockets of non crazies. I'm "lucky" enough to live in one, but it's not luck really, it's like attracts like. There's probably a bunch of people hiding out and keeping a low profile somewhere near you. And if you think the US is not like NZ: think again-everywhere is exactly like anywhere else now. |
