Quoting: Alexander REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. .... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON. It takes about 20 seconds. [link to www.donotcall.gov (secure)] Per do not cal website! Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 25246760 11/16/2012 09:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is true. Call the number and you get the national do not call registry. What's with you? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17346821 It might be the Do Not Call Registry but so what? I find nowhere on their website in news or comments about cell phones. Cell phones do not apply. You have gotten hold of an old internet rumor, same writing you post going back to 2004. |

| stillhere User ID: 26842649 11/16/2012 09:16 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Analysis: This online rumor has been circulating continuously since September 2004. Despite a very small grain of truth at its core, it's mostly false, outdated, and misleading. Here's what you need to know: Yes, you CAN add your cell phone number(s) to the National Do Not Call Registry. No, you WON'T suddenly be at the mercy of 10,000 telemarketers if you don't. Contrary to what's claimed, cell phone numbers are NOT about to "go public." [link to urbanlegends.about.com] Last Edited by stillhere on 11/16/2012 09:17 PM "You can bend it and twist it... | SilverPatriot User ID: 10518597 11/16/2012 09:28 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Op, Thanks, I already had my home telephone number on the do not call list and not all companies abide by this however, my home telephone goes to message, as we will not answer the landline. With our cell phones if we do not recognize the telephone number or it is labeled as unknown we do not answer if the call is legitimate the person will leave a message otherwise the call is ignored. We do not use text messaging and all our friends know this and understand that we promptly delete text messages without further consideration. |
