Superstorm hits Australia's East Coast with 4000 lightning strikes in one hour in Brisbane

lights just flickered and thunder is nuts but still powered here - at least this has broken the heat today

see thats the problem. bought the torch especially and had some cold ham in the fridge should there be no power.

so of course the mega bad scary storm took a sharp turn north.

I was thinking that but just when you think its over the thunder suddenly gets loud again and the rain gets heavier....To early to call at this stage. At least we are getting some rain!

Thunder and lightening still here and hasn't changed since it start - Ippy area but don't judge me I just live here and you can tell I'm not a local cause I wear shoes... EVERYDAY hehehe

It isn't called the Wet Season for nothing. Nothing unusual in the slightest for a tropic region..
The Gold Coast and much of Brisbane is built upon swamp land, so nothing unusual about flooding either. The Aboriginals knew about these areas of risk, but we built on them..
Category 1 cyclones aren't Super Storms in Australia either, the Gold Coast always got them from memory living up there..

I take it all back - we are getting hammered now - woohoo my water tanks will be full

Nothing like being on a global forum to meet your neighbour.

Not much rain but the thunder just doesn't stop, and yes this is pretty normal for us but it is nice to give the otherside of world some realtime reports and like above, know what to expect approx when.

It's real bad now. Your storm is likely 3o away. On mobile now as Internet is down. Meet up for coffee at red bank shopping centre one day but for this second I am off the Internet. Stay safe

Gee ...you guys are lucky getting so much excitement of a storm and water tanks full. The trees have been faintly lately due to lack of water . I better go wave that Rain stick more , but Im afraid Im only increasing the power of it as it travels north

Is this weird looking or NOT ? On the radar the weather heading for Murwillumbah on the map , suddenly clears as it passes over ...Our rain is being stolen . Theres a whole dam here that needs rain . And its being broken up just over that area .

you must be close to my place,i was told by my wife that the tv has warned up the sunshine coast,where`s the water gonna go downstream. dams are maxed again, fooooools oh yeah the termites are being carried on it also so make sure you take a look around.
