quaoar is a trans plutonian object (small planet that is)
it was not much closer then earth 300 hundred years ago.
planets go round in elongated circles around the sun.
if you think there is some body (nibiru) approaching the earth, that is not quaoar

then again the universe has more layers than we see with the physical eye.
the real change comes form higher layers, where physical distance does not matter.
