Just seeing more up there, maybe it's just me...I get this eerie feeling looking up there now, uncomfortable...

I have noticed they seem bigger, brighter, closer and much lower on the horizon than ever before. I live in the country and have looked at them almost every night for over twenty years. The perspective has definetly changed.

Most likely less light pollution. Sandy took out a lot of street lights and a decent chunk of the electric grid, thus there is less light pollution and you see more stars.
