Well that could be a long answer but the brief answer is we are Irasel ally. The danger of them attacking Iran is serious to us because it will cause either Russia or China to become involved in the conflict which theu would probably take Irans side. This has already bren stated.

Also Iran does have the capability to stike back if attacked. US bases over seas would become an instant targrt. Another thing is oil ban not only would Russia and China side with Iran the majority of the middle East will. As we speak now they are considering a ban on selling to the US.

As for America itself the real threat comes from China or Russia. If either of thesr nations side with Iran we are in trouble.

So to sum it up

Oil ban = high gas prices possibly up to 6-8 per gallon
Attack on Iran = other super power nation getting involved

There will be no world war, but rather a large war. There is not going to be full destruction as in both world wars, but its going to be the largest war after those two. This is what almost likely is going to happen.

Do you really think China, Russia or the US wish a full scale war? They only fight for resources and power, but they don't want to erase their own existence. "Some of the numbers are eye-popping," Daniel Sullivan, commissioner in Alaska's department of natural resources, told a panel of experts at the International Economic Forum of the Americas in Montreal.

In the last quarter the US produced six million barrels of conventional and unconventional oil a day, he said, adding: "We haven't done that in 15 years."

Since 2008, the US added 1.6 million barrels of additional oil, and in 2011, the US registered the largest increase in oil production of any country outside of OPEC, he told hundreds of participants.
