I get it. GLP can be addictive. I need to make an effort with my partner as we've only got one computer and live in a small cave (literally). It's natural for your partner to want to catch up and talk/go out/make love when they come home from work and can it can be frustrating and boring for them if all you want to do every night is chat to/argue with strangers on some forum. It could also make them feel a bit lonely.

In our case it's not a problem as I mostly use GLP when he's out. Can't wait to get a second laptop so we can laugh about thing together.
