Right, it makes people more ~cautious; alcohol does the exact opposite, make them lose their inhibitions. That's why most people (perhaps those who are already overly cautious) who experience intense paranoia from weed, usually stop smoking it and don't like it much. But alcohol is addictive due to its effect on inhibitions, because some people really like the grandiose feelings and thrill-seeking, risky behavior precipitated by its use.
