Ha!... I've got all the goodies, all the guns, and a great water storage in proper blue five gallon and much larger containers. I also have purification and filtration equipment for when that is gone. I ALSO have several cases of lemon juice in small bottles so it will last longer. An opened big bottle will go bad quicker and waste a lot.

In addition I purchased a good water storage purifier that lets water be stored longer. Every time I empty a large pop bottle I clean it out and fill it with water, treat it, and store it. I live in a country area where a lot of folks are like minded.

Another good item to conserve water are those White tubs sold by Clorox or Lysol with pop-up towels. They can clean stuff like eating utensils and dishes. They have them for hands and baby bottoms. A shovel is needed to dig an outhouse. I have been doing this for years.

Also, cotton balls soaked in vaseline (not ky) it needs to be petroleum based. You coukd also rub some chapstick on the cotton or fabric and light it.

If you only store a few jars of peanut butter and pilot bread along with some water, you may be ok till help arrives.

But if we have learned anything...help may never arrive. So do something to help yourself. Anyone can fill big coke or Pepsi bottles with clean water. The bottles take pressure, are food approved, seal well with the plastic lids, and are still perfect in a flood. They can freeze solid and it will not hurt them if you stand them up so the lid does not crack. You could bury them in the back yard and the critters will not get into them. Things like rice, beans, sugar, salt, barley, Whole wheat, bullion, nuts, and even Jelly beans can fit through the small pop opening and be safely stored.You can do even more with V8 or plastic juice bottles as they have bigger openings.
Even on a budget you can prepare to take care of your family.
If nothing happens…you can eat it all anyway.

when the shit hits the fan, words are important. survival mode is not fight or flight. you are working with peers in fluid situations to acomplish tactical goals for right now, 1 hour from now, and two weeks from now. just how the brain operates in that phenomenon.

So you can, and should be in the habit of generous use of words like ice, hot, "cook a fire" as opposed to "FIRE!"

There are no more non civil servant jobs. Everybody works for the government! O my bad I thought I was still in 2016 I didn't realize I jumped back a few years to warn people! My bad. There are still a few non civil servant jobs left but they will disappear soon. The government jobs will decrease for a bit with layoffs and then they will pick up again but never be the amount or number they were in before. Those that don't have jobs will live off what the government divies up for them from what they tax the government workers for now. Probably wouldn't hurt to check if you have kerosene on hand too if you use kerosene lamps/heaters... Most peopel probably don't use kerosene lamps any more, though.

There are many ways to distill water problem being it takes all the vitamins and minerals out of the product good idea would be to keep bottles of vitamins and mineral suplements handy to put back into distilled water if you ever have to go through the effort of doing that

Calcium Hypochlorite is widely available for use as swimming pool chlorine tablets or white powder that is much more stable than chlorine. This is often known as “pool shock”.
How to Disinfect Water Using Calcium Hypochlorite

Using granular calcium hypochlorite to disinfect water is a two step process.

* To make a stock of chlorine solution (do not drink this!) dissolve 1 heaping teaspoon (about one-quarter of an ounce) of high-test (78%) granular calcium hypochlorite for each two gallons (eight liters) of water.
* To disinfect water add one part of the chlorine solution to 100 parts water to be treated.
* Let the mixture sit for at least one-half hour before drinking.

Be sure to obtain the dry granular calcium hypochlorite since once it is made into a liquid solution it will begin to degrade and eventually become useless as a disinfecting agent. This also means you should make your treated drinking water in small batches, for example enough for a few weeks at a time at most.

Another plus for using calcium hypochlorite to disinfect water for emergency use is that a little goes a very long way. A 1-pound bag of calcium hypochlorite in granular form typically costs only a few US dollars and can be obtained in any swimming pool supply section of your hardware store or online. This amount will treat up to 10,000 gallons of drinking water, which is enough for a family of four for some six or seven years at a gallon per day per person!

Calcium hypochlorite will store for a long period of time and remain effective as a chemical drinking water treatment. So get rid of the household bleach and buy a can of Calcium hypochlorite for your disaster emergency water disinfection needs. It lasts far longer and treats far more water than the traditional chlorine bleach water disinfection treatment.

Store in a ziplock baggie or a glass jar without a metal lid. This can not touch metal as it is corrosive. Indefinite shelf life.
