It all began years and years ago when Israel began 'occupying' the Palestinian land. Palestine wanted them out...how dare the jews desecrate their holy muslim land. Hatred and opposition between the two people began and now it's been a constant struggle, with an ongoing war for years. That's the juste of it, but very simplified.

Hamas is the political party who is in power in Gaza now, after being elected last year. The scary thing is that now, the Muslim brotherhood seems to be coming together and where Gaza really had no friends before, they now have allies with Iran and Egypt. It's changed since the Arab Spring.

It's practically impossible to get an objective non partisan history of events because it's very two sided. If you listen to pro Hamas people, they'll tell you Israel is carrying out war crimes and terrorist acts and has been for years by constantly and continuously bombing Gaza. If you listen to Israeli jews, they'll tell you Gaza declared war on them years ago and they are under attack.

The scary thing is that Hamas now has allies and there was talk that Iran is even giving them firepower now.

To think, this all began over what is really just a hunk of dirt.

Israel has had continuous Jewish occupation for at least 3000 years, albeit , for the last 2000 years, ruled by different empires: Romans, Arabs, Ottoman, and finally the Brits.
In the 19th century, Many European Jews began emigrating to that region (with the benediction of the Ottoman empire).
This region was mostly barren, swamps, gravel and sand. Not even the Arabs cared for the place. With Jewish immigration came development and jobs. Swamps were drained, land was bought off at a high price from Syrian & Jordanian land owners, and made cultivable. The economic development attracted many Arabs into the region.

Fast forward a few years: The region is now under British rule. (Ottoman empire having sided with Germany, ended up being dismantled)

Arabs in the region are very frustrated. The Quran tell them that Land gained as a result of Islamic conquest, is Islamic land for all eternity, and that Jews and Christians who live on that land should be 2nd class citizens, subservient to the Muslims. Needless to say, a thriving Jewish population on Islamic land infuriated the poor angels. Imams began inciting Muslims to commit pogroms against the local Jews. Fast forward after WW2:

The United partitioned the Palestinian mandate into 2 areas: One Arab, One Jewish.
Arabs refused and went to war, outnumbering the Jews 10 to 1 They were announcing rivers of Jewish blood, instead they lost miserably against an army composed of women and holocaust survivors.

As a result of this war 750,00 Palestinians became refugees, and 800,000 Jews were kicked out of Arab countries (they had been living there for over 2000 years)

Israel absorbed its Jewish refugees while Arabs maintained its Arab refugees in camps ever since.

Arabs did manage to take over Jerusalem, and forbid any Jews access to it.

At that time, Gaza belonged to Egypt, and West bank belonged to Jordan.

In 1967 Another coalition of Arabs composed of Egypt, Syria and Jordan ganged up on Israel but lost in 6 days.

As a result, Israel annexed territories in order to have a security buffer zone in the case of another war.

In 1973 Arabs tried again, and got their ass whooped.

Realizing they could never win a conventional war again, they switched to terrorism, using the 'Palestinian people' to avenge their wounded Arab pride.

Essentially, 'Palestinians' are the collective dick Arabs lost in the 3 failed extermination wars they waged against Israel.


The 20+ Arab countries maintain 'Pals' in a state of permanent victim-hood while institutionalizing them into terrorists.
