Interesting and it could very well happen. We can't really say what will happen, though. However the world is changing the proof is just in the weather, quakes, sinkholes, and other oddities like the 'trumpets' and the strange lights being seen especially around volcanos.

I remember once hearing that my grandmother saying that the end was near and also remember what my dad has said about end. He was adament about it too, that the world will end this time in fire rather than floods like the Noah's Ark scenario.

Even if it is on that scale we can't change it nor stop it. All we can do is prepare, pray, and hope for the better.

It is interesting though that in so many cultures and histories of those cultures that this date pops up yet they have no connection to eachother being in that they're spread out across the world.
