Worried about a gun grab by the UN? Here is what you should do...
It weighs heavy on every American concerned with gun rights, and the forthcoming UN gun resolutions that will probably strip away American's rights to gun ownership. Can Obama really do that, with the Constitution? A simple answer, yes, he can do it, and he probably will. This is unavoidable with the US teaming up with the UN, which will in affect nullify our Constitution, regarding the gun issue. It is like going around the issue, the same way we were able to go into Libya, etc, but that is another story altogether. Here is what Americans should do. Buy high powered air soft guns. They may or may not kill an enemy who comes at you, but it will slow them down enough that something else, will do the job. A club, a ball bat, whatever you got. A thief breaks in your home, it is the next best thing, if your not packin heat. At least when the gun grab comes, you got Something, instead of Nothing. Plus the pellets are affordable. I recommend the Crossman Phantom, or any good .177 pellet gun in the the $150-200 range. The breakaway, is far superior to the multi pump action.

Just make sure that you file off the front sights from that pellet gun, that way it'll hurt less when the thug shoves it up your ass.

No explanation for why you say that? Do you honestly think that they won't come for your guns eventually. Don't you think you should have some way of defending yourself, if they take them all? I understand well that a person can hide weapons, but if you are a registered gun owner, don't think they won't know that you have them. If you buy from a pawn shop, they know. If you sell a gun, at a pawn shop, they know. You should always have a back up plan. You can take your 1 star and put it where the sun don't shine.s226

Air-soft is not the same as pellet rifle.

A hard .177 pellet from a pellet rifle doing 800 FPS or better can penetrate the chest and reach the heart on an adult human. May take a few minutes to kill 'em.

And the same on squirrels and rabbits and coons will be instant death with a good head shot.

Gamo Hunter air rifle is being advertised as 1600 FPS (standard lead pellets at 1250)

You guys are missing the point completely. I am saying When they take registered guns away, what are you going to have then. Shouldn't you have a back up plan? Yes, a crossbow is a good alternative as well.

Obama, Clinton, and the US Senate will sign the UN small arms treaty. It will require member states to make a list of all small arms, their owners, and when and to whom they are transferred. If citizens fail to notify the Gov't of their possession of such, it will be a criminal matter. Suspicion of such by the Gov't (using purchasing records of the past 20+ years) will generate a search warrant.

So, yeah. The UN/US are planning on taking them.

Yes, there will be a civil war over the gun issue, for certain. It won't prevent them from enacting the law through the UN, and Trying to take away peoples guns. People can and will fight against it. I can see them doing a house to house search and seizure of guns, by militarized police. It will be up to each individual what to do in such case. Will they give up guns willingly, or will they defend their home, and stand their ground, even to the death? If you have children, you will be asking yourself what to do at that moment. If you had over the gun, will they go quietly? etc.

Honestly, I don't think they're stupid enough to go for the full ban. There's too much public support for some form of gun rights and far too many unregistered weapons to make it feasible. They might go after semi-automatics, but otherwise, I don't really expect to see a full ban in the 40-50 years I have left on this earth.

Granted, if it were to come down to a full ban, its crossbows and swords for my home defense needs before the pellet gun...

Perhaps your right, that will keep them at bay for now. At least you have an alternative should they come after the guns. I don't see how people can say it is not possible in the future, that they won't use the UN, to accomplish their objectives.

Re: Worried about a gun grab by the UN? Here is what you should do...
Pellet guns have zero stopping power. That's what it is all about in a self defense scenario, stopping power. You can poke little holes in an enraged attacker all day long and they will still keep coming. What you need, is a .45 caliber handgun that hits with the impact of a large rock dropped off a high building. Boom, shuts them down and knocks their ass to the ground immediately. You cannot ignore stopping power even if you are high on PCP, the shock and the force will still knock you down while something like a 9mm or .22 is useless against somebody on PCP because they don't feel the impact. A 9mm is like getting hit with a baseball, a .22 like a bee sting. Unless you hit them in the face or head and strike the spinal cord or CNS, you need STOPPING POWER/kinetic energy.

i'm pretty sure a 400 fps bb gun if it was automatic and fired within 5 feet into a burglers eyes and head, he would probably fall with his hands on his face

if you don't hit his face up close you are dead

OP I think you had a good intent with your thread but the problem is that most here (myself included) won't be parting with any weapons anytime soon.

Now if your scenario were true (though you could never take all of them) then a crossbow sounds about right instead of a pellet or airsoft.

Firearms are not at issue, they never were.

With 2 pieces of thick threaded plumbing pipe, wood, a drill, some nails and spring - it is very easy to create a double barrel .410 or 12 gauge shotgun with two triggers. The .410 will also fire .45 Colt.

What is difficult, however, is ammunition. More specifically, primers.

The only way around this is to own true (no primer, but flint) black-powder firearms.

A modern compound bow, crossbow, slingshot, and .22 cal high pressure air rifles could all compliment this if necessary.
