The fact that both officers out weighed the suspect and nothing indicated he was armed and they were (and presumably trained in arrest tactics) the suspect was clearly on the defensive.

The Cop shooting him was wrong and the female officer should have been charged and let a real jury hash it out.

Cops are supposedly held to a higher standard, in this case, and with just the video, she got away with murder, she knows it, no matter what anyone else said, it will come back on her. That is a law nobody gets to escape because of their job.

Chip, no officers were knocked out.

Again, if the guy was shot while thumping on them, I can see the use of deadly force for the scenario you speak of.

If the guy has a rock or other item that can render an officer unconscious or kill an officer, then yes, by all means justifiable to shoot him.

Unfortunately you can not discriminate against people anymore when hiring them if they pass the police psychical and training camp.

Chances are she was a bit younger and thinner when she first applied to become an office, but they do tend to give a bit of lee way with women cops because of their lesser upper body strength they can use their weight.

But.... IMO, she is now too heavy for the job for her own good, too many donuts and sitting ridging the patrol instead of walking or biking a beat will cause her to falter and get shot or deadly beaten one day.

What's more a huge shame though is all the overweight officers with failing health use your tax dollars to pay for their health insurance.
Thinner cops are healthier cops.

Yes. I watched the video. NO, there doesn't appear to be "Just cause" shown in the video, TO A LAYMAN.

But the truth is, as many of you comment on the officer's "ASS" or the apparent shape she is in, that THIS is the reality of Law Enforcement today. YOU VOTED IT IN! No body wants to tell the woman, the man, the PERSON that tey are too fat, too old, to skinny, too weak.... They simply want to "even the playing field" for those that are not as in-shape, those who are not as fortunate.

In response, WE in Law Enforcement ascribe to the theory "WE NEVER LOSE". If you are in a fight, it is MOST LIKELY a Fight for your life....

This KNUCKLEHEAD not only tried to get away from the officers, he came back to throw a few licks. AND, after that came back for a few more.

Who knows what was happening off camera. All the officer knew is that SHE was outmatched. And, if the perp came back, maybe he'd take her gun and kill her as well as her partner.

She did exactly as she was instructed in her training... MY TRAINING.

The female officer escalates to deadly force first.

The male officer then draws his handgun, but then goes to a less lethal taser.

I was trained to use the force necessary, and deescalate as well.

Do you KNOW he did not retrieve a weapon of some kind? I certainly don't.

In reality, it doesn't matter. The truth of this situation can be seen in the first few minutes of the video.

The "COVER" officer that the dash-cam is recorded from tries to control the suspect, however, the suspect escapse and throws a few blows at him. Even HE is outmatched... Through lack of training, fitness levels, or even his mindset. HE IS OUTMATCHED.

Now... The "Fat ASSED" Female that gets the shot off is probably thinking that the Cover Officer is going to save her in some way. But that doesn't happen. So, When the suspect escapes, (Whether or not he grabs an offensive weapon) She is faced with the reality that this guy can do her (or her partner) harm!

Following freeing himself, if he hadn't attacked the officers and fled, I'd say that fatty lands in jail. However, since he actually made the decision to attack the officers, and COULD HAVE been lunging forth once more, the shooting was justified.

One thing though, after he voluntarily hits the deck to be cuffed, it appears that the officer who was attempting to cuff him was hurting the guy as is evident by his foot movements. With no sound, it is hard to tell. That could be what instigated it.

Hurt or no hurt, that guy asked for it.

The thought crossed my mind, in regards to the possibility of the perp retrieving a weapon from his person, but I can't see that happening in the time frame, from the time he gets out of camera range and the shot is fired.

Regardless, my friend stay safe. I know you walk a fine line, and most people do NOT understand.

THANK YOU... I realize that there are some STUPID FUCKS out there that do some dumb things,for various reasons. and make ALL Cops look bad. But what MOST people don't realize is that the rest of us make decisions in fractions of a second which are examined, cross checked and questioned in the weeks that follow.

It comes down to what the officer was thinking at the time when determining the outcome of these cases.

I appreciate your insight into the matter. I know it doesn't seem right for this guy to have been shot... Perhaps if other officers were invovled, the outcome would have been different. But one has to look at the totality of the circumstances.
