Informal poll - Cookies?
Nice cool night to do some baking here in the desert.

So the question is: Chocolate chip or Oatmeal cookies?

I'm leaning towards oatmeal, maybe put chips in part of the batch.

What say you, GLP?

Looks like oatmeal wins. Gotta go see if the butter is soft yet.

Re: Informal poll - Cookies?
Why can't they be chocolate chip oatmeal?

Mrs Smith's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
Cream together:2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar

Add and then mix together:4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

Then add: 4 cups flour
5 cups oatmeal (ground fine in blender or processor)
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon baking soda

Add: 24 ounces chocolate chips
8 ounces grated Hershey Bar
3 cups chopped nuts, optional

Drop by teaspoons onto non-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 12 dozen.

I always use the recipe under the lid on the Quaker oats. Without raisins or nuts.

Just put the first bunch in the oven, looked at the clock on the oven, 11:11. GLP cookies, indeed.

Re: Informal poll - Cookies?
I am jealous. I ate a package of generic Wal-Mart chewy chocolate chips earlier tonight. Nothing wholesome about those.
