The more educated the populace, the more healthful the food they buy. I've seen poor, uneducated peeps load up the grocery cart with the worst foods imaginable, while the better educated just don't do that. Along with EBT, a course in nutrition would have been helpful. I've been in classes, where young, generally poor students, were actually surprised at how easy proper nutrition is to achieve. Many of them changed their eating/shopping habits because of it, lost weight, and got healthy. The government won't have any of that of course, defeats the purpose.
