My husband is finishing up his degrees in molecular biology and biochemistry.He says many of these diseases like polio and the 1918 flu are still going strong, they are just given different names. For example, the 1918 flu is comparable to h1n1.

It's no secret H1N1 is a derivative of the Spanish flu. The Spanish flu is CALLED H1N1 because they are subtypes of the same dlu!
