Between 1914 and 1948, the BRITISH named it Palestine, Prior to 1914, the Turks and Arabs who controlled it from 636 called it Greater Syria,Prior to that, it was called Palestine by the Romans, prior to that it was called by several names, the most common ones, Canaan,Israel and Judea.
