'Atmospheric River' to Slam Pacific Northwest through Entire Week
An upper level low is forming south of Alaska, which is keeping intact through the week for major storms to continue to hit the Pacific Northwest in what is known as an 'Atmospheric River scenario', or a river of tropical moisture.
Flooding, thunderstorms, and strong winds will continue to pound the Oregon and Washington areas through this week, with the storm split in various pieces.
It will be raining from now through Wednesday, a whole three days of rain. This is a lot of rain we are talking about here, with over three to four inches of rainfall inland and near the coast over five to seven inches, with some areas seeing over eight inches of rain in this period.
