Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
When I was 8 yrs old, I was outside playing and a breeze came by and it smelled wonderful. The second it left me, I thought, where is my sister?

She was two and I found her in the street reaching for a copperhead snake that had been ran over behind it's head. It was reaching for her, trying to bite.

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
When I was 11, my older cousin and her sister and my baby sister were riding a large piece of styrofoam down a creek and we fell off. My sister couldn't swim and was on top of my head kicking. I opened my eyes underwater and saw that my legs were in the roots of a tree.

Snakes is all I could think of and I started to panic and thrash. This voice says to me, '"stop, or you'll die". I stopped and put my hands on my sisters butt and lifted her out of the water as high as I could. To my amazement, someone took her from me. I slowly pulled my legs out of the roots and swam to the surface.

When we went under, the huge field had been empty, these two guys just showed up at the right time to help us.

I lifted her out not knowing anyone was there to take her.

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
I have but not seeing his face or his person but The Lord Jesus Christ is God unto me.

It is no unusual thing..it is quiet normal to me.

There has been three time where what took place was seen and experienced even by others.

Once while praying with a little boy who wanted to be Saved..he wanted me to pray with him.

And I did I expected exaclty what we prayed and said it was as it was spoken there fore I expected it to be just that..

I did not expect what came from the boy....he was young and that type of confirmation was nothing I would have expected from a boy.

All I could do was look at him and tell him I am amazed at how strong you desired this to be so...and you strenght of heart.

It went through my arm and through his from his hand up and I am not kidding never have I had that before ..he was all light up.

One time something like that happened that was strange was when I was baptized...it was Easter morning in the river and cold.

There was the church singing on the side of the river shall we gather at the river...the pastor on one arm the deacon on the other.

I went down and came up and was smoothing the water out of my face and eyes...when I looked at the two men beside me they were just starring at me with a froze look on their faces..
The church had stopped singing it was dead quiet...my husband was standing looking like they were....so I turned to get out of the water....

No one spoke to me at all not one person they just did not speak...I felt isolated.

My husband was nervous and did not speak to me...but drove and and acted nervous.

I asked him what was the matter what was the problem he told me "I don't know I really don't know".

I asked what do you mean you don't know what happened...and he said "I am not for sure what that was."

He told me finally what he saw when I broke the water and came up..

But there was not one person at the church had any thing to do with me after that they were like distanced to me kind of blank and not knowing what to think or how to take me after that.

So I distanced from them and drifted on out to my own place and later spent time mostly at my families churches and others but never wanted to attach myself to any one again not as a member..

I have no idea why that caused such a change in others towards me but it did.

All I know is the pastor was kin to me a lot of them were..but it made even to this day a kind of small distance between us when it come to religion.

I have found out its better not to even encounter such things not openly or before others.

We are going to be having a baptism this week end and every time this happens I wonder what will come up out of that water......makes you hold your breath and get a little nervous until its over with.

Many times. I could write books about it. Just today I took a nap, and in my dream I was sucked into a space of pure light, and there was only one thing in the universe and in a voice infinitely greater than my own it said (and my body was filled with the words as they emerged): "I LOVE YOU", and I woke up.

I've had multiple experiences of Source and seconds of all-knowing.

I have too. I asked to be shown who or what God is and I was given a clear vision in my mind and I searched to find it in real life. I looked in books on the internet, and months later I stumbled across a video on YouTube that was the closest thing so far. Here's the video, but you need to imagine that every burst of energy in everything that comprises all Universes is operating like this. This video is a single instance. Sorry it is very hard to explain.

Yes you are correct, this is one of God's manifestations. I have witnessed this in a meditative state. This is the light of God that pulsates and nourishes your soul in heaven.

Once I was terribly worried, sitting on my front porch smoking and turning the problem over and over in my head.

Then I realized there was a woman with two dogs standing in my yard five ft from me. She said, this is going to sound weird but The Lord asked me to come pray with you, would that be alright? I said sure and took her hands and she prayed for me and said that it would be alright. She left, I had never seen her before or since. It comforted me greatly, I quit worrying and she was right.

Saved the weirdest for last. I saw a UFO when I lived in NY and I told my brother about it. He said, I believe that you believe you saw a UFO.

It broke my heart. I wouldn't have cared if no one ever believed me, but it killed me that he didn't. He is my closest friend in the world. I prayed about it, hard. I couldn't live with this between us. Two weeks later, my brother sees a UFO. So I got to use the line, I believe that you believe you saw a UFO. He got mad for a second and realized how bad he had hurt my heart.

We have a wonderful sweet Lord.

Went for a walk, caught sight of a tree,
Surrounded by light, and mighty with glee.
As I went to this tree, for I saw a knee,
Then a voice spoke, showing justice and liberty.
Looking up high, colors of rainbows in the sky,
Children dancing and singing, so much joy in their eye.
As I heard the marching, of horses and men,
He said, go, God is with you, come back so we can ALL be as one again....

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
Yes.

I went through a terribly traumatic period of loss. I was grieving terribly, and sometimes overtaken by an incredible rage. Sometimes a deep dark depression. After 6 months it wasn't getting better, but worse.

I went to bed one night, and despair just overwhelmed me. I cried out to God for help. I asked Him to either help me get what I had lost back or give me peace, then I cried myself to sleep.

I awoke about 5 am. Before I had opened my eyes I had thought, or rather a series of thoughts, completely formed "answer" that helped to restore some hope in me.

Then this incredible warm tingly feeling started in my belly then began to slowly envelope my entire body... I felt the most amazing feeling of love and peace...I was gasping in shock, saying "Oh God" and when it had almost reached my head, I got kind of scared and mentally pushed it back.

Right now that is the biggest regret of my life.

At any rate, I was able to move on after that.

I had other experiences after that as well. I was struggling with something and told God I was giving up. I told him there was something wrong with me, my head, my heart, whatever...I just couldn't get it. I "heard" the word Isaiah in my head.

I kind of went "huh?" and I heard it again. Isaiah.

I went and got my Bible and started reading Isaiah chapter 1. Five verses is I come to this: "5 Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. "

I had never read the Old Testament before. I didn't really understand What HE was trying to tell me, but it kept me going another day.

As the title says...

Who here has had a real life personal experience with god?

I dont want any bible passages please... Just real life personal experiences where god either spoke to you or made him/herself known to you..
 Quoting: nobiblepassagesplease 27666306

Years ago, when I was in my early twenties, I was driving home on a winding country road. I was sober but speeding. As I approached a blind corner blocked by bushes and trees, I saw a bright light, whiter than snow. A pure white that I can't adequately describe. It scared me, so I slowed down. When I slowly drove around the corner, there was a deer in the middle of the road. On the other side of the road was a deep ditch. I stopped right in front of the deer. As it walked away to the other side of the road, the light disappeared. The light "closed up" by disappearing horizontally into a vertical strip, and then the vertical strip disappeared - almost like two zippers meeting in the middle, if that makes any sense. Several years later I was working at an industrial supply retailer. I was very busy that day, and a middle aged man came in looking for a motor. As I was looking up the motor, he discussed having to be careful when he drives home up in the hills because of the deer. I told him I almost hit a deer a few years before, but that "something told me to stop." As I left to check our warehouse for his motor, he replied, "I know what that something is." I thought that was strange, and when I came back with his motor, he was gone. But he had left a business card with a green fish symbol (Christian fish). Before I could pocket the card, I was distracted by another customer and was then called away. When I came back a few mintues later to get the card, it was gone.

I have had several other supernatural experiences, but none as dramatic, and all have strenghtened my faith. I think God was revealing his grace to me in those days because I had been raised by an alcoholic father and was under a lot of stress transitioning into adulthood. I still have a long way to go. I screw up every day. Do and say things I shouldn't. But God has been merciful and patient, and most of my "real experiences" with God entail hearing His voice in my heart say, "well done" or "that's not what I desire, please repent."

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
I have experienced the Lord many times in my life. Sometimes its just a whisper to do something and I obey as God reveals His plan in my life. When my mother died in 1984, three days later I saw her spirit coming from the corner of my bedroom. The interesting thing is that she was being led by another brilliantly powerful Spirit. I told my mom I was ok and to rest in peace. I glanced at the other Spirit that was hidden from my eyesight. At that moment my soul instantly recognized the Being and I was filled with joy and love. I said to the Spirit " I know who you are, You are Jesus Christ. You don't have to hide from me because I believe in you." After that, both Spirits vanished. I have had other meditative encounters where I had visited my father in heaven and was shown in great detail of his surroundings in heaven. Another time I meditated and asked God to show me what all of Heaven was like. Jesus Christ showed me a multi-dimensional Heaven with God's light permeating through it all. God is beyond description and is all loving. You can sense God's love through everything you witness in Heaven. You have nourishment of God's love in your soul through God's light. God's light is like sunlight but it does not hurt your eyes to stare at it, but it is warm in your soul and fills you up. The same way that sunlight reflects and refracts off objects on Earth is the same way that God's light reflects and refracts off objects in heaven and it gives off a glow of vibrant and brilliant colors.

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
The Creator is indeed very real... and He lets us know that He is if we ask and especially when we go through the most difficult times of our lives... here's my story:

It was June 1992 and I had messed up (not too terribly, but as I learned later, enough for it to destroy my marriage). Basically, I had been "seduced" by a friend of ours who knew my wife was out of town. She was married too but very unhappy. I had gone as far as agreeing to meet her somewhere but froze and couldn't and didn't do anything other than a kiss in the back of my van. I'm not trying to minimize what I did nor excusing myself nor avoiding taking responsibility for my actions for I was wrong (and I paid dearly for what I did). But when I say that nothing else happened, it's the honest to goodness truth.

When my wife came back I was upfront and told her what happened (I couldn't sleep for days in expectation of this). I am not perfect but was a very good husband up until that point. No, actually, I was an exceptional husband and father. You must understand that I was a Christian practicing what I believed... and definitely not doing anything even remotely coming close to something like this (eg, I was not a flirt, came straight home after work, we kept busy doing volunteer work, was busy with my kids, etc). You must also understand that this - being seduced by an attractive woman - was something that I had yearned for when I was younger (before becoming a Christian). I was extremely shy and, though not unattractive, had very low self-esteem. The test that I faced and "successfully" passed was a huge test of the inner worldly person's fleshly desires struggling against the new spiritual person that I had worked for years very hard to become. My whole drive back home I was somewhat elated and felt this (false) sense of confidence because of not allowing anything to happen. It "hit me" by the time I arrived back at my house. I knew that what I did was wrong and that I had pained my loving Father and my family. I was literally ill for days and couldn't eat or sleep.

I had no idea how my wife (at the time) was going to handle this... suffice is to say that it wasn't pretty... in her eyes it was as bad as if (using her words) "there was penis in vagina". I voluntarily confessed as soon as she got off the plane days later. (I couldn't live with myself and definitely wanted her to know about the matter from me). She never got over it and for 5 years it was thrust in my face on a weekly basis.

(There's lots more details to this story but will spare you since it's not appropo to the purpose of this post.)

Here's how I know the Creator is real: Days after it happened (before my wife returned) while I was tormenting my soul and not able to sleep or think, I drove around wandering aimlessly one morning and stopped at a park where I could be alone. There I poured out my heart to the Creator and continued asking Him for forgiveness and asked Him to please give me a sign that everything would be alright after having messed up the way I did. At that very moment, a squirrel came down a branch that was feet away from my van and just sat there looking straight at me and nodded at me. He did this for about 10 seconds mind you. I asked if that was His sign. Just a few seconds passed and a bird landed on that same branch practically a feet away from the squirrel (not once did the bird look at the squirrel or vice-versa) and they both looked right at me and nodded synchronously.

It was quite unbelievable! My heart was grateful and through my despair this strengthened me... it was just the sign I needed. If there ever was a time when I really needed an ounce of confirmation from my loving Creator of Him being "in charge" and that He was indeed listening to "a heart crushed and broken" (Psalm 51:17), that was it. The consequences of my actions didn't stop despite this reassurance. This terribly stupid action caused lots of tears and pain to many people... but through it all He sustained me like He assured me He would... I call it my squirrel/bird nod moment and on occasion think back about it whenever things get rough.

Please, my main purpose in posting this is that I hope and pray that this experience helps somebody else who may possible be experiencing difficulties (eg, maybe even caused by themselves). There's hope... God exists and he cares about you. Heb 11:6, 1 Pet 5:7

This movie scene is the closet visual I can give to what it was like, metaphorically speaking. People who say it's about fear just don't understand.

Fear drives anger and hate and negativity.

It's about love and freedom from fear.

But whatever...yes...and it was basically like this:

Re: Who Here Has Had A Real Experience With God???
This is what I sent a friend a few days ago. It sums everything up;

Father talks to me, everyday. When I rise in the morning, till I rest at night. I tell Father that I love Him and He tells me that He loves me. Sometimes, He even tells me "Thank you for loving Me." And I tell Him to not thank me, because I don't deserve it, but that's how lowly and modest Father is. Sometimes, when I want to do wrong, He tells me to do right. If I do something that He approves of and makes him happy, He touches my heart and I mean literally. It's the best feeling in the world. It just feels purifying and puts you at ease. If I do what He doesn't like, He'll put His hand on my heart, instead this time, it feels as if it's being stabbed. It's the worst feeling ever. In general though, I don't like seeing Father sad or mad at me

When I need advice, He's always there to give it. When I need a shoulder to cry on, He's there to take my stresses away and put me at ease. We even joke with each other. Father makes me laugh all the time and I make Him laugh as well, from time to time. You know, it made me think a lot. Me not having my earthly father in my life, made Father shine just that much more. He has fulfilled the Fatherly role, that I needed in my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

On top of that, there are the spiritual perks. I've had several visions from Him and man, they're just out of this world. He's given me the task and duty of preaching His word. You knew the old me, I was a nervous wreck around those that I didn't know. Father let me know from the get go, that I needed to get over that, in order to serve Him and of course, He helped me with that issue.

He's even promised me, that I will inherit His kingdom, which I tell Him that I don't deserve it and I really don't. You know, I don't think about heaven. For many, that's all they want. They don't want God, they just don't want to burn and that shows the fakery that's within them. All I want, is to have Father in my life, that's it. For the first time in my life, I'm truly happy. I'm finally standing up for that which is right. Through me, Father can shows our youth, that you CAN be young and live with/for God. Unfortunately, many think that your 20's should be about partying and sex, while they "settle down" in their 30's. That's taking advantage of God's love and He won't buy it. That's what Satan wants. The longer you stay in sin, the harder it will be to give it up, but this is why we need God the Holy Ghost. To make that SPIRITUAL transformation. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

To add, Father has even appointed to me a family. I will have a wife and we shall have a child and they both will be of the Lord. He....loves me that much man and I don't deserve it at all, but that's why I can never leave God. He's done too much for me. I've come to peace to those who hurt me. I've forgiven those that I used to hate. I can't stay mad for more than 2 minutes and I'm just happy.

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:6-9 KJV
6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Matthew 15:8-9 KJV
8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Acts 5:29 KJV
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Something/someone is there for sure.

How many of us have been saved in an extreme situation?

Have you ever volunteered to help the Lord in your outwards talk and meant it? Did something happen to you to show you the path towards what you are to help with? Even if you hated every moment of doing so yet you did it because you knew you volunteered and asked to help?

Have you ever felt that from above or wherever that someone sends you their love and you know you are loved?

I would say yes and most people I know would say yes.

I fell into drug addiction. 10 years. 10 lost years. The supposed best years of my life...lol.

When I finally stopped and said "wait.." i had already lost so much and about to lose the most precious thing I had ever had.

Later I ended up at a rescue mission...nightly chapel...four nights in a row preaching on the Prodigal Son.

Four different preachers, different churches, different denominations...these guys volunteer....they don't work with each other, and four of them preached the same sermon on four consecutive nights.

The Prodigal son. The wayward child returns to the Father who loves him.Four nights in a row.

The first night I was in too much emotional pain to do much more than register the topic.

The second night I laughed it off...

The third night I mocked and got defensive...

The fourth night I got angry...cursing angry...ready to walk out and take my chances on the streets...

And then it hit me...right between the eyes.

And I hit my knees.
