No spiritual enlightenment. Nothing changed in your environment. Simply the chemical makeup of your physiology was altered.

Then you realize how confusing a feeling like that could be for people who didn't link it to a 'chemical' they had ingested.

Imagine you took a hallucinogenic and ecstasy and did not realize it?

Of course you would think you felt the 'presence of God'

'God' is just a word people use. It means different things to different people. But at the end of the day, it is really people trying to feel good... for as long as possible.

Is there a creator? Is there a God watching us? Maybe. Maybe not.

But the only reason people worship him is because they want to feel good. Not because they appreciate the fact that they were created, or because God loves them.
