Ecstasy or any other substance that produces a spiritual experience is like taking our blinders off and seeing a part of Reality that has is normally hidden from us. Hidden for educational purposes, of course. Not because we are "fallen", not because this 3D existence is a trap, but simply to teach us some lessons on the path to being creator gods of our own.
In the Reality that we all come from, its like being on ecstasy all the time ;)
