You give people a second chancd, if they don't meet you half way, walk away. We create our own happiness and/or misery by the people that we allow into our lives. If the husband is not going to try to make an effort, there is no point. It takes two willing participants to make a relationship work.

I am pretty negative too. Maybe tell him you need a bit of postive once in a while... A dollar went much further just 10 years ago... Its makes a man bitter.

PTSD is worth looking into if in combat. But don't just get him addicted to drugs, they have there own issues. There are therapies that help for PTSD.
For that matter there are non drug approaches for plain old depression.

I have seen judging people as you around here.(middle of Nebraska). Seems they are the first to point fingers at so and so etc. Its funny how it takes years for it to come around and bite them back. But it always does. Soon they are having an affair or turn into the town drunk... I do not say it will happen to you. I pray it doesn't. But no one or no family is so much better than you. Its the Lords grace that saved you... Not a thing you or I did... Just saying...So be careful up on that pedestal. Its a hard fall.

If you can't bring yourself to leave him, spend your time away from home with positive people and ignore his ass.

So, he says, "the steaks you bought suck" in a way that blames you for choosing them, you no longer buy him another steak again in his fucking life. Next time prepare a steak for yourself and put chicken on his plate. When he complains, say, "You know the steaks I buy suck, so I got you the chicken".

If he's really as bad as you say he is, then he's unhappy and needs a hobby.

My hubby was somewhat like an old grouch until he took up motorcycle riding and restoring old bikes. Now he has his "man cave" and he spends time with his buddies riding and working on bikes and it's changed his entire outlook on life. He has something to look forward to.

Help him find something that he is interested in, then support him and encourage him to do it. Don't be offended if this hobby doesn't include you because it doesn't have to.

Well it should at least make those steaks taste better!
