A Russian Soyuz space capsule made a rare nighttime landing in the frigid steppes of Kazakhstan early Monday... Weather at the landing site was overcast and freezing, with temperatures of 12 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 11 degrees Celsius), though it felt like 0 degrees F (minus 17 degrees C) with the wind, Navias said. The Soyuz capsule landed on its side, a common configuration, and recovery teams were expected to work quickly to retrieve the astronauts due to the cold weather. The command change marked the start of the station's Expedition 34 mission by Ford and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Evgeny Tarelkin, who arrived at the station in late October".

Ed Dames mentioned a spaceshuttle-like craft that was forced to land due to meteor showers or something of that kind. Now, the Soyuz does not really look like a spaceshuttle, and also, it was not forced to land. There is however, something coming up that might be the event we are looking for here. The X-37B will launch next week on november 27th after a couple of delays. See also: [link to www.msnbc.msn.com] The X-37 looks like a mini spaceshuttle. If this thing needs to emergency land after launch next week, we know we're in trouble.
