Re: Books Rejected by the Council of NICEA - The BIBLE } Allegories, Parables and Stories representing Physiology, Anatomy, Astrology, Chemistry !!
We have all the books; and they were in use long before Nicea, contrary to what some Catholics like to believe.

21 Reasons Why the Apocrypha is Not Inspired

1. The Roman Catholic Church did not officially canonize the Apocrypha until the Council of Trent (1546 AD). This was in part because the Apocrypha contained material which supported certain Catholic doctrines, such as purgatory, praying for the dead, and the treasury of merit.

2. Not one of them is in the Hebrew language, which was alone used by the inspired historians and poets of the Old Testament.

3. Not one of the writers lays any claim to inspiration.

4. These books were never acknowledged as sacred Scriptures by the Jewish Church, and therefore were never sanctioned by our Lord.

5. They were not allowed a place among the sacred books, during the first four centuries of the Christian Church.

6. They contain fabulous statements, and statements which contradict not only the canonical Scriptures, but themselves; as when, in the two Books of Maccabees, Antiochus Epiphanes is made to die three different deaths in as many different places.

7. The Apocrypha inculcates doctrines at variance with the Bible, such as prayers for the dead and sinless perfection.

It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins.(2 Maccabees 12:39-46)

8. The apocrypha contains offensive materials unbecoming of God’s authorship.

Ecclesiasticus 25:19 Any iniquity is insignificant compared to a wife's iniquity.

Ecclesiasticus 25:24 From a woman sin had its beginning. Because of her we all die.

Ecclesiasticus 22:3 It is a disgrace to be the father of an undisciplined, and the birth of a daughter is a loss.

9. It teaches immoral practices, such as lying, suicide, assassination and magical incantation.

10. The apocryphal books themselves make reference to what we call the Silent 400 years, where there was no prophets of God to write inspired materials.

And they laid up the stones in the mountain of the temple in a convenient place, till there should come a prophet, and give answer concerning them.(1 Maccabees 4:46)

And there was a great tribulation in Israel, such as was not since the day, that there was no prophet seen in Israel.(1 Maccabees 9:27)

And that the Jews, and their priests, had consented that he should be their prince, and high priest for ever, till there should arise a faithful prophet.(1 Maccabees 14:41)

11. Josephus rejected the apocryphal books as inspired and this reflected Jewish thought at the time of Jesus

12. The Manual of Discipline in the Dead Sea Scrolls rejected the apocrypha as inspired.

13. The Council of Jamnia held the same view rejected the apocrypha as inspired.

14. Although it was occasionally quoted in early church writings, it was nowhere accepted in a canon. Melito (AD 170) and Origen rejected the Apocrypha,(Eccl. Hist. VI. 25, Eusebius) as does the Muratorian Canon.

15. Jerome vigorously resisted including the Apocrypha in his Latin Vulgate Version (400 AD), but was overruled. As a result, the standard Roman Catholic Bible throughout the medieval period contained it. Thus, it gradually came to be revered by the average clergyman. Still, many medieval Catholic scholars realized that it was not inspired.

16. The terms "protocanonical" and "deuterocanonical" are used by Catholics to signify respectively those books of Scripture that were received by the entire Church from the beginning as inspired, and those whose inspiration came to be recognized later, after the matter had been disputed by certain Fathers and local churches.

17. Pope Damasus (366-384) authorized Jerome to translate the Latin Vulgate. The Council of Carthage declared this translation as "the infallible and authentic Bible." Jerome was the first to describe the extra 7 Old Testament books as the "Apocrypha" (doubtful authenticity). Needless to say, Jerome’s Latin Vulgate did not include the Apocrypha.

18. Cyril (born about A.D. 315)– "Read the divine Scriptures – namely, the 22 books of the Old Testament which the 72 interpreters translated" (the Septuagint)

19. The apocrypha wasn’t included at first in the Septuagint, but was appended by the Alexandrians, and was not listed in any of the catalogues of the inspired books till the 4th century

20. Hilary (bishop of Poictiers, 350 A.D.) rejected the apocrypha (Prologue to the Psalms, Sec. 15)

21. Epiphanius (the great opposer of heresy, 360 A.D.) rejected them all. Referring to Wisdom of Solomon & book of Jesus Sirach, he said "These indeed are useful books & profitable, but they are not placed in the number of the canonical."

More on the Council at Nicea...........

The Council of Nicaea met in 325 A.D, assembled at the command of the Roman Emperor Constantine, and met to address the heresies of a man whose name was Arius.

The Council of Nicaea did not actually make the original decision about which books were to be part of the Bible. What the councils did do was not so much decide, as agree with what had already been decided and was already in practice in the churches all over the world.

The Roman Catholic Church would have you believe that all local churches and congregations were in chaos having all sorts of books in their churches and considering them as scripture, being deceived until in 325 A.D. the Catholic Church finally gets it right comes in and restores order.

The Catholic Church was not even around, and early Nazarene Christianity was flourishing. It was flourishing so much that in dozens of places in the Roman Empire, Christians were building underground cities called catacombs - in order to survive the persecutions that Satan was inspiring and directing through the Roman Emperors.

Remember at the time of the Council of Nicaea that the Roman Catholic Church Hierarchy did not yet exist. It did not have that little piece of real estate in the Vatican until after 325 A.D. It was after the Council of Nicaea that the Emperor set up the Catholic Church.

But the Roman Emperor Constantine who worshipped the Sun God knew that he was having trouble gaining legitimacy amongst Christians. He craved this and sought out Eusebius to see how to make this happen. Eusebius suggested a council of all of the independent Christian churches within the Roman Empire, and Constantine agreed.

1) the church council did not "decide" the Canon of the Bible, they rather AFFIRMED/CONFIRMED the Canon.

2) the books known as the Apocrypha were not accepted as part of Scripture.

3) the history of the Catholic Church is that the longer she continues, the greater her heresies become. She continues to accumulate untruth as time progresses. The more that the Catholic Church continues in time, the greater her reliance on apocryphal books. It had to be that way, because the 66 books of the regular and true Bible in no way justified the doctrines that the Catholic Church was teaching.

4) for this reason, the Roman Catholic Church has tried to uphold the supposed Canonicity of the Apocrypha. They did not succeed in doing this until the Council of Trent, when they finally came out and said that the books of the Apocrypha would be treated as Holy Scripture itself. That was a departure from the historical books of the Bible, and a departure from history, and a departure from treating the apocryphal books as not being part of the Canon of Scripture. In other words, 1500 years after Jesus died (and rose again), the Roman Catholic Church decided to change which books should be included in the Bible.

In 410 Synesius, whose Christianity had until then been by no means very pronounced, was popularly chosen to be bishop of Ptolemais, and, after long hesitation on personal and doctrinal grounds,[11] he ultimately accepted the office thus thrust upon him, being consecrated by Theophilus at Alexandria. One personal difficulty at least was obviated by his being allowed to retain his wife, to whom he was much attached; but as regarded orthodoxy he expressly stipulated for personal freedom to dissent on the questions of the soul's creation, a literal resurrection, and the final destruction of the world, while at the same time he agreed to make some concession to popular views in his public teaching.

Origen was a prolific writer in multiple branches of theology, including textual criticism, biblical exegesis and hermeneutics, philosophical theology, preaching, and spirituality. Some of his teachings, however, quickly became controversial. Notably, he frequently referred to his hypothesis of the pre-existence of souls. As in the beginning all intelligent beings were united to God, Origen also held out the possibility, though he did not assert so definitively, that in the end all beings, perhaps even the arch-fiend Satan,[7] would be reconciled to God in what is called the apokatastasis ("restitution").

Did you stop to think that maybe those books were rejected because they're not true?

There must have been satanic pagans and gnostics chomping at the bit to get their own information stuffed in there.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23223519

I'm sure that some of the books were not correct. However some people, like myself, do not like other folks (especially people in power) deciding what we should read. Maybe you are okay with being treated like a child. Jesus himself studied the book of Enoch and referenced it in the Bible. Why was it left out by the council?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8547528

Because it's generally accepted that The Book of Enoch was made waaaaay late and has teachings that stand in direct conflict with well established/better sourced books in The Bible.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24350462

So how was it referenced By Jesus' own brother Jude if it was written "waaaay later". I've got my doubts on some of the later add ons, but all my research on the Book of Enoch leads me to believe the only reason it's not included in the Bible is due to the mind-blowing revelations of the watchers, and what they mean for religion in general.

( Less than 50% copy paste)

From the link above:

Part 2

Santos quoted the following from George W. Carey's book, God-Man; The Word Made Flesh
Primitive Christians, the Essenes, fully realized and taught the great truth that Christ was a substance, an oil or ointment contained especially in the Spinal Cord, consequently in all parts of the body, as every nerve in the body is directly or indirectly connected with the wonderful "River that flows out of Eden (the upper brain) to water the garden."
The early Christians knew that the Scriptures, whether writ ten in ancient Hebrew or the Greek, were allegories, parables or fables based on the human body "fearfully and wonderfully made."
These adepts knew that the secretion (gray matter — creat ive) that issues, (secretes) from the cerebrum, was the source and cause of the physical expression called man; and they knew that the "River of Jordan" was symbolized in the spinal cord and that the "Dead Sea" was used to symbolize the Sacred Plexus at the base of the spinal column where the Jordan (spinal cord) ends, typifying the entrance of Jordan into the Dead Sea.
The thick, oily and salty substance composing the Sacral Plexus, "Cauda Equina," (tail of the horse) may be likened unto crude Petroleum, (Petra, mineral, or salt, and oleum — Latin for oil) and the thinner substance, oil or ointment in spinal cord, may be compared with coal oil; and when this oil is carried up and crosses the Ida and Pingala (two fluid nerves that end in a cross in medulla oblongata where it contacts the cerebellum (Golgotha
— the place of the skull) — this fluid is refined, as coal oil is refined, to produce gasoline — a higher rate of motion that causes the ascension of the airship.

The Nazarenes were the first Christians.

"The Nazarene sect used in the Book of Acts clearly referred to both Jewish and Gentile followers of Jesus' Apostles ... they accepted the virgin birth of Jesus.

The Nazarenes were originally Jewish converts of the Apostles who fled Jerusalem because of Jesus' warning of its coming siege."

This is why the Council of Nicea was only relevant to Rome. They were accepting certain books already in use.

Excerpt from Frank C Higgin's Hermetic Masonry:

Ancient priesthood believed that the great mass of mankind was too undeveloped to comprehend a philosophy of divinity based upon more or less scientific premises. Therefore, they carefully conserved their special knowledge, imparting it only to chosen initiates, while treating the masses to a spectacular exoteric system. Such was in fact the origin of the dual system that has prevailed through the ages, which was as much a part of Judaism and primitive and mediaeval Christianity as of the pagan idolatries, by which the priests knew and the people thought they knew.

A few years longer and this system (numerical and geometrical keys) will kill out the dead-letter reading of the Bible, as it will that of all the other exoteric faiths, by showing the dogmas in their real naked meaning. And then this undeniable meaning, however incomplete, will unveil the mystery of Being, and will, moreover, entirely change the modern scientific systems of Anthropology, Ethnology and especially that of Chronology."

Apocrypha
The Book of Enoch the Prophet

-By R.H. Charles
Categories: Apocrypha, Christianity, Gnosticism, R.H. Charles, Spirituality

The Book of Enoch, written during the second century B.C.E., is one of the most important non-canonical apocryphal works, and probably had a huge influence on early Christian, particularly Gnostic, beliefs. Filled with hallucinatory visions of heaven and hell, angels and devils, Enoch introduced concepts such as fallen angels, the appearance of a Messiah, Resurrection, [...]

"In Scripture we are told that God made man in his own image. It is also stated not only in the Christian Bible, but also in the holy writings of nearly all enlightened people. The Jewish patriarchs taught that the human body was the MICROCOSM, or little cosmos, made in the image of the MACROCOSM, or the great cosmos. This analogy between the finite and the infinite is said to be one of the keys by the aid of which the secrets of Holy Writ are unlocked. There is no doubt that the Old Testament is a physiological and anatomical textbook to those capable of reading it from a scientific viewpoint. The functions of the human body, the attributes of the human mind, and the qualities of the Human soul, have been personified by the wise men of the ancient world and a great drama has been built around their relationships to themselves and to each other. To the great Egyptian demigod, Hermes, the human race owes its concept of the law of the analogy. The great Hermetic axiom was, That which is above, is like unto that which is below, and that which is below is like unto that which is above."

I'm cross eyed reading all your opinions and links.

Now you believe you hold special interpretive skills through which you believe that some religious philosophies and science can become one only if everyone can learn your skills and apply them accordingly to the subjects you've mentioned in this thread, correct?

There must be a simpler way to communicate what you are trying to convey here. Great thread, it's just, well, manic.

Re: Books Rejected by the Council of NICEA - The BIBLE } Allegories, Parables and Stories representing Physiology, Anatomy, Astrology, Chemistry !!
Any book that allowed the scientific enlightenment of people was rejected, this was a form of knowledge control for the day. Only high up members of the church were allowed access to this kind of knowledge.

We have to thank individuals like Galilaeo who refused to lie to people and who kicked the church in the scrotum.

What the root conflict has been for centuries is the literalists who have had control of the hearts and minds of believers have played the role of what scientist play now within our global community. Now there is simply a reconcile back to the abstract metaphorical speak and what is known fact which is ever progressing. Galileo was a victim of literalists who primary function was to defend a power and control complex over the people.

In other words the Church's role was to defend the legitimacy of Kings and Queens by enforcing the idea of divine right rule. Challenge the Crown and you are challenging the Will of God. That's quite a psychological hold on the masses who believe such things. The Church's strength was primarily based on this, "What we say is law including the idea the world is flat. We can never be wrong. If we are as the Church then royal rule will be challenged and eventually fall, the royals, the blue bloods, Christ's blood, protectors of the Church. It was mutually serving integrated racket between the Church and the royals of Europe of control and wealth over the masses. that's what Galileo threatened.
Lazy dayz every dayz.
