This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. The storm cycle will continue over Southern B.C. today. Satellite imagery shows another low pressure area is developing southwest of the Washington coast this morning. It is expected to cross Southern Georgia strait this afternoon causing south to southeast winds to increase rapidly to 70 gusting 90 km/h near midday. Winds will diminish early this evening but expect another bout of strong southeast winds across the entire South Coast on Tuesday, as yet another significant low barrels up towards Northern Vancouver Island. |

Satellite imagery shows a strong low pressure area crossing the B.C. South Coast carrying ample moisture. Rain over 50 mm is expected today in the Fraser Valley and the Howe Sound region. South to southeast winds of 70 gusting 90 km/h near Juan de Fuca strait affecting the Gulf Islands and parts of Victoria will spread later this morning to Georgia strait and begin to affect the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions. Winds will diminish later this evening but expect another bout of strong southeast winds across the entire South Coast on Tuesday, as yet another significant low barrels up towards Northern Vancouver Island |
