The storm cycle will continue over Southern B.C. today. Satellite imagery shows another low pressure area is developing southwest of the Washington coast this morning. It is expected to cross Southern Georgia strait this afternoon causing south to southeast winds to increase rapidly to 70 gusting 90 km/h near midday. Winds will diminish early this evening but expect another bout of strong southeast winds across the entire South Coast on Tuesday, as yet another significant low barrels up towards Northern Vancouver Island.

I've heard on the news that the coast is already having 100 mph wind gusts. Roofs are starting to blow off.

Let's just agree to keep Cascadia asleep until after this blows over. If we start getting earthquakes, I have to move outside in a tent. I really don't want to do that with the 4 inches of rain and 45 mph wind gusts that are forecasted for my area.

The storm cycle is continuing over Southern B.C. today. Satellite imagery shows a strong low pressure area crossing the B.C. South Coast carrying ample moisture. Rain over 50 mm is expected today in the Fraser Valley and the Howe Sound region. South to southeast winds of 70 gusting 90 km/h near Juan de Fuca strait affecting the Gulf Islands and parts of Victoria will spread later this morning to Georgia strait and begin to affect the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions. Winds will diminish later this evening but expect another bout of strong southeast winds across the entire South Coast on Tuesday, as yet another significant low barrels up towards Northern Vancouver Island
