Syria is going to be handed over to the muslim brotherhood instead of the moderate muslim establishment they currently have. At that point israel will be surrounded by rabid muslim regimes instead of the fairly moderate goverments they have enjoyed as neighbours for decades. Then we will see isreal in real trouble. IF Turkey gets attacked by Syria, we (USA, GB, Germany all NATO states) have to fight with them. That is what the treaty says. Syria is allied with Russia also by a defence treaty. We would end up with NATO forces against Russian forces. Is that what you want? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 28057368 Germany 11/19/2012 02:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | so are the Patriots better than they were? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1379065 cause they really sucked in Gulf War I. That's why those are tried on the Turkey. But I am just kidding. The problem here is (and it is a problem), is that the NATO ally Turkey actually IS ATTACKED by shelling. This is a perfect reason for war. Now, the NATO must defend it's ally. Everything clear so far? At the same time, Putin has made statements and surely contracts with Syria (I didn't look, but he sounded quite serious there). I think this is the reason why Obama was this tired during the first debate. You remember? Everybody was surprised (except me). It was just the time when the first shelling took place, and there were here and there already rumors that the NATO case would be declared because of Turkey. In fact, they could not actually have been denying it if Turkey openly demanded so. Somehow, they/he talked them into wait. Now, here and there more shelling takes places and they really need to do something. "The Germans are going to defend you" sounds probably good. |
