I was actually joking about the three wise men thing with my friend this morning.
So when baby Jesus was born... these three wise men traveled from far away lands, following a star, to see the baby jesus get born.
They looked at him...
...tossed him some incense...
...and went back home?
wtf?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21926154 it wasn't three. more than likely it was many, at least 12. the gifts are prophetic. and, what's interesting about them, is that these men were from many other kingdoms (a wide variety). the gifts were equal to the first material possessions that God gave Adam and Eve. ok... twelve wise men showed up... ...looked at baby jesus... ...gave him some prophetic gifts... ...and went back home... once again. What was the point? If they hadn't shown up... what? And what did they get for showing up? Did they go back home and spread christianity? Anything?
