The Official Winter Thread of 2012 – 2013 (For the East Coast) (Updated) All is pretty quiet.. mhmm
Hello everyone this thread will be me covering all the major snow storms blizzards Nor-Easters that slam into the east coast this winter. A large number of Meteorologist are expecting very above average snowfall this winter from New York to Mississippi

The winter of 2012 -2013 is expected to be pretty severe and hurricane sandy was a warning sign of it. Since weather is my passion and I do enjoy keeping track and filming the storms why not make a thread about it

I am not an expert about the weather, I’m pretty close to it though but I know the experts and will keep you up to date on all the doom and gloom blizzards that are headed for the major east coast cities and you are more than welcome to help.

Okay this thread from me before is just a break down of what is expexcted to come after thanksgiving

Thread: Breaking Weather News: The East Coast is screwed this winter period!

And the NAO is all over the place right now it is going through a glitch, first time I’ve seen that before, went all the way down to -4 and then back up to +4. So the extended outlook forecast is scrambled up for now

take a look here [link to www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov]

I decided to put this next link here to anyone who don't fully understand what I mean by the NAO North Atlantic Oscillation going positive and negative because this explains it in greater detail

Prediction:

There won't be any blizzards as long as the above normal temperatures in the U.S. remain the norm.

They're not going to remain above normal they are going down my friend. After thanksgiving there is going to be a massive cool down from the upper Midwest to the northeast and then the next wave the colder air is going to go as far south as Florida seeing temperatures below normal.

UN believable!!!!! I don't know who is following this but the NAO (North Atlantic oscillation) Just dropped like crazy now! You should know what the NAO is, it is on my thread, The NAO Just dropped even further down to negative 2 almost a negative 3. It has not been this low since sandy, what does this mean? A Possible Major strong storm could be heading for the east coast in the coming weeks probably a super blizzard or intense Nor-Easter/coastal storm if this keeps up and very cold air along with it. Watch out, this is not looking pretty at all.

Here is the link to the (North Atlantic oscillation) [link to www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov]
(LOOK AT THE FIRST BOX AT THE TOP WITH THE RED SPAGHETTI LINES) and you see where the Black line is at on November 1st being at negative 2, that was hurricane sandy and as you can see how far it goes down at December 1st almost to negative 3. It is bad news indeed if it stays like this

This next link here is from former meteorologist Joe Bastardi
And he says already Thursday into Friday a strong surface low is going to develop off the coast. The thing is the lower that NAO goes negative the more storms are going to form

[link to twitter.com]

I am really starting to think if the NAO stays like it is now or go even more negative there could be a massive storm coming for the east coast around December 1st.

But I can reassure you a bad winter is coming for all and when I say all I mean the United States and Europe and Canada. Give me an hour or too I'll be back with the links everyone

A possible major winter storm is expected to hit the east coast next week Tuesday into Wednesday

Here are the two links telling you about it

THE WEATHER CHANNEL CALL IT A BIG SNOW EVENT WHICH IS WHY I SAY BLIZZARD AND IS GOING ALONG WITH THE GFS RUN
[link to www.weather.com]

ACCUWEATHER IS STILL STUCK ON THE "What happens from there remains a question" AND "Scenarios"
[link to www.accuweather.com]

The way I see it, this storm is going to go a little bit east then due north giving heavy snow and strong winds to the east coast and possible thundersnow now too because the storm is going to bomb out, meaning deepen and strengthen. I will tell you something else this won’t be the last blizzard and probably won’t be the strongest as well because there is a strong chance more blizzards like this and worse is headed for the eastern seaboard

GET READY BECAUSE HERE IT COMES!!!

Unfortunately the blizzard that was supposed to hit the east coast has been cancelled, for places such as New York down to Virginia and up to Boston. it seems that we are only going to see 1 to 2 or 3 inches of snow on Tuesday into Wednesday because the storm is not going to hug the coast, it is going to go further out to sea

That is the way the forecast stands...... For now

Okay everyone as you probably know there is a winter storm headed for the east coast tomorrow the snow is expected to start up around tonight and snow for the majority of the morning tomorrow changing over to sleet or freezing rain. The storm is expected to be a mixed bag of precipitation and the snowfall total is forecasted to be around 1 to 3 inches of slushy snow.

On another note, The NAO is now forecasted to go positive meaning there is expected to be a big warm up coming for December which is a shock to me because last time it was forecasted to go negative meaning a lot of snow and cold for December. It might be a glitch or it might indeed go positive just to go back further negative we will have to wait and see

Hi everyone! I work for a news agency in England, Newsflare, and we aim to sell amateur video footage of newsworthy events to broadcasters.

We know there's a big snowstorm heading your way and we'd love it if anyone could take some film of how they're managing the snow, what precautions they're making and how their neighbourhood is dealing with it. If your video's good enough you could get paid for it!

If interested, please check out the details at

[link to www.newsflare.com]

Or, alternatively, email me at jadegrassby@ymail.com.

Many thanks!
