Anonymous Coward User ID: 20675367 United States 11/19/2012 05:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I found out that the best way to get rid of the smell was to walk on the mattress as much as I could. It didn't take long afterwards for the smell to disappear If you like the pillow I would suggest crushing, folding, and/or walking on the pillow as much as you can. Otherwise I would just return it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1329407 United States 11/19/2012 05:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Get rid of it. I had a memory foam mattress for 5 years. Throughout that time I couldn't breathe through my nose at night. My sinuses would be swollen shut. I started suspecting the mattress because whenever I would go on a trip and stay in a motel on a regular mattress I could breathe fine. I shit-canned my mattress recently and that very night I began to breathe fine. Get rid of it. |
Just Some Dude User ID: 3779821 United States 11/19/2012 06:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My son loves his and hasn't had any kind of reaction, I have a king-sized memory foam topper and haven't had any problems either. They're full of chemicals that are in a constant state of decay (think soft plastics going brittle) and release decreasing amounts of those chemicals over time. Luck of the draw on reactions though. I've heard that latex is a decent option if you're not allergic to it, made from rubber trees, at least it has some organic properties that mimic the more toxic synthetic foams. |
