On the basis of the data presented in this report, an analysis of the choice of targeted areas, methods of attack and the number of civilians killed and injured clearly indicates a reckless disregard for civilian life synonymous with intent. Further, it is clear that 'Operation Cast Lead' was not just an assault against the Palestinian population, but also against the Gaza Strip’s infrastructure and the livelihoods of its people, with factories, farms and other economic resources systematically targeted. Prima facie evidence exists of the commission of war crimes amounting to grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions, most notably wilful killing of civilians, including women and children; extensive destruction of property, both residential and commercial, public and private; and wilfully causing great suffering and serious injury to body or health. This is in addition to the fact that the resort to the use of force by Israel was unlawful in the first place.

Maybe because they want to LOOK like the good guys here. You know, act like they are helping and doing it for the good of everyone(buy killing innocent people and saying its their fault).

Do you even hear yourself? You sound like a heartless fool. Anyone who has been keeping up with this genocide, knows who is doing the killing.

Did you miss my post about how this looks just like what we did to the Indians? Ya know, claiming this land is ours when in turn no one owns land. That's just silly. The land will still be there after we pass on. No one has a right to tell someone to move from where they live. But this is what Israel has been doing.

So again, your solution is for Israel to just allow Gaza to rain rockets down on their civilians from school rooftops?
 Quoting: *Evan*

the solution would be for Israel to accept that it's stolen land that didn't belong to it, built on that land, even whilst the US President was attempting to negotiate peace, and refuses to recognise the rights of those who previously owned land.

I'd love to know how you'd feel if I suddenly arrived in a series of boats and nicked the house your living in saying that actually, this book in my hand says that this is our land anyway, so really you've just been keeping it safe for us all these years.....

This is an honest question here and one I think we need to look at and hope we do.

What should hamas do when their leaders are actively being assassinated? Why isn't this being brought up at all when stating Gaza needs to stop rocketing israel, when historically and currently we see far more palestinian deaths.

I don't want to come off as a shill or whatever but if the hamas doesn't do anything what so ever, israel is going to just continue killing off their leaders.

I just don't know why I should feel fear of being attacked as a shill for having a different opinion, or even ENTERTAINING a different position.

I haven't even stated my exact stance here yet I feel I will be jumped on for not standing with our ally the great Israel and that is just so sad to me the government doesn't need to silence anyone, we are doing it ourselves.

bullshit.

This is intelligence agencies like Mossad and the CIA that have infiltrated the opposition, and are perpetrating these little rockets (juiced up fireworks barely) and are trying to get this war started.

The exact same way that the infiltrated Syria, and shot mortars into Turkey, trying to blame it on Assad.

The elite control the intelligence agencies of the world, dont forget that.

Historically, the land of Palestine was populated by a people known as the Palestinians. Palestinians have always been religiously diverse, with the Muslim majority maintaining friendly relations with their Christian, Jewish, and Druze brethren.

At the turn of the 20th Century, a new Jewish nationalist ideology called Zionism was developing. Zionism called for the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

During this time, increasing numbers of Jewish Europeans immigrated to Palestine, causing the Jewish population to grow from a tiny minority to 35% of the population.

"In 1967, Israel occupied the remaining 22% of historic Palestine: the West Bank and Gaza (as well as large sections of Syria and Egypt). Since then Israel has transferred many of its citizens to Jewish “settlements,” (colonies, which are illegal according to the fourth Geneva Convention). Today 40% of the West Bank is off-limits to Palestinians, as they are not allowed to live in Israeli settlements, drive on Israeli-only roads connecting these settlements, or even live or travel through “security zones,” surrounding the settlements."

"As the periodic bloodshed continues in the Middle East, the search for an equitable solution must come to grips with the root cause of the conflict. The conventional wisdom is that, even if both sides are at fault, the Palestinians are irrational “terrorists” who have no point of view worth listening to.  Quoting: The Guy

Do you live under a rock and only read the New York Times?
 Quoting: DoubleHelix

I've actually been there, and I believe that land is doing better with the Israelis as landlords than at any other time in history. For better or worse, the nation of Israel exists, and has the right to defend itself. I'm surprised they don't simply annex Gaza instead of letting them to sit there and lob rockets at their cities.
 Quoting: The Guy

You are a sad soul.

Have you even seen the history of what Israel has taken over the decades?

Here ya go. Even in a friendly map form :D

I see you totally ignore my reply and try to continue with the same fleeting argument. How silly.
 Quoting: DoubleHelix

Um, that's what "for better or worse" means. I actually did know all that. Our history isn't exactly spotless, either. There are lots of Muslims, Christians, Baha'i, Druze, etc. currently living in Israel, all allowed to practice their religions. What exists there now is good. The people who live there have the right to resist those who want to destroy their country. If the best way is to destroy their enemies' ability to make war, so be it.

Re: people are no longer buying the tired old "defense" line
The Origin of the Palestine-Israel Conflict

This paper outlines the history of Palestine to show how this process occurred and what a moral solution to the region’s problems should consist of. If you care about the people of the Middle East, Jewish and Arab, you owe it to yourself to read this account of the other side of the historical record.

[link to www.ifamericansknew.org]

"The standard Zionist position is that they showed up in Palestine in the late 19th century to reclaim their ancestral homeland. Jews bought land and started building up the Jewish community there. They were met with increasingly violent opposition from the Palestinian Arabs, presumably stemming from the Arabs’ inherent anti-Semitism. The Zionists were then forced to defend themselves and, in one form or another, this same situation continues up to today.

The problem with this explanation is that it is simply not true, as the documentary evidence in this booklet will show. What really happened was that the Zionist movement, from the beginning, looked forward to a practically complete dispossession of the indigenous Arab population so that Israel could be a wholly Jewish state, or as much as was possible. Land bought by the Jewish National Fund was held in the name of the Jewish people and could never be sold or even leased back to Arabs (a situation which continues to the present)."

I am not trying to prove anyone wrong. I am just showing the truth to those with open eye's.

WE DO NOT WANT WAR!

AND NEITHER DO THE PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST!

Get over it and learn to love, or get the hell out of my way. Cuz the love train is coming through : D

If someone shoots at your house blindly, and most of the time doesn't kill anyone, should you have the right to shoot him back and protect your family?

Israel is just following AMERICAN war policy..

America wiped out HUNDREDS OF THOUSADNS of innocent men and women and children in their war in Iraq...obliterating whole apartment blocks PACKED with families on the OFF CHANCE there MIGHT have been s few "Insurgents" there.

Ya see..its OK for AMERICA to MASSACRE..they are the GOOD GUYS..right?

Falluja was a MASSACRE..wiping out entire families one after the other..using DU to continue its KILL RATE long after the shots were fired.

So the reason israel is NOT guilty of war crimes is because they have not even come CLOSE to what america HAS done and is STILL DOING.

OH BTW...Iraq was NOT firing missles at america for months on end.

How soon people forget. Israel use to control all of Gaza.. Gaza was given to the so-called Palestinians as a land for peace deal. They turned right around and used their "peace" land as a closer staging point they had more control over to fire their rockets into the interior of Israel.

 Quoting: Resister

Israel did not originally own Gaza, lol.

I see you don't read either, or care for history much i see. It only takes a lil research to see how wrong you are.

Just take a look at my previous posts(they actually have links in them). I even did the google search for you:)

It's funny how most of you who are acting so blind don't even reference anything to your claims and i keep proving you wrong. But you just keep going on the same argument you were told to go on, lol.

Yeah, I can do a simple search too. Not that I needed to, but here is 10 seconds worth of searching. [link to www.pbs.org]

It happened in 1993 and was called the Oslo Accord.
 Quoting: Resister

My last link by itself references farther back than a simple propaganda headline, lol.

And only proves the point about how far back this goes. And it goes much farther back than another pretend peace treaty for Israeli PR.
 Quoting: DoubleHelix

I am not ignorant of how far back into history conflict and claim of ownership over that tiny spot of land goes. It has been controlled by Israel, the British, the Ottomans, the Romans, The Assyrians, the Medo-Persians, the Egyptians… Seriously, how far back do you have to go? Saying that the rocket launchers in Gaza have every right to blast away at Israel today without reprisal is no different than saying the Sioux would be justified in launching rockets into Montana without expecting the National Guard to tear them a new one.
