Does anyone else still shed tears when they see the Little Drummer Boy play for Jesus?
I am 46 years old and still cry when I see the cartoon show of the Little drummer boy that played for Christ.
It was like you give what you can and he had very little.
I dont know its just me I guess.
Do not forget to say Merry Christmas to people.
They try to replace it with Happy holidays but I will never say that.

I thought I was the only one who loved that song!!
Everyone I know like Frosty the snow man, or jingle bells..... But I have always had a special place in my heart for The little drummer boy..... It just hits a note for me, the real meaning of Christmas....

Never saw that cartoon you talk about. Maybe you could 'tube it for us here so we can watch it.

But I do think that the duet of David Bowie/Bing Crosby was a great version of the little drummer boy.

UUGGG, I hate that song. I had to sing it in chorus in 8th grade and we practiced it over and over and over. THe David Bowie and Bing Crosby version only made me hate it worse.

No, the one that gets me going will always be Silent Night, or "I'll be home for Chrismas", by Elvis.

Well, I never said it was my favourite, just that I like it a lot. My favourite is Silent Night. But I was just curious about the cartoon the OP mentioned.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

I'd like to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa did. Not screaming in terror like the people in the back seat of the car he was driving.

You should have nailed it to a tree and made it feel like Jesus. - Brief

Don't get me wrong, " The Little Drummer Boy" is a great story...I just got burnt out on it...kind of like how everyone got burned out on "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "Jingle Bell Rock".

There is a great message behind "The Little Drummer Boy"...I'm just sick of the melody.

"Oh Holy Night" is another one that'll get me emotional.

There was a Christmas episode of The West Wing where a homeless veteran with no family is given a burial at Arlington cemetary with an Honour guard. It makes me cry like clockwork. Just youtube "little drummer boy" "west wing" and get some tissue.

There is indeed something very special about this song, one of my all time favs. Thanks Op for sharing!

A perfect version of it

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Besides the fact that there is no drummer boy in the Bible, and the wise men did not arrive until Jesus was 2 years old and at a house, not a stable... who in their right mind would bash and bang a drum in a newborn baby's ears? Might be funny to ask people if the drummer boy is in the Bible for laughs.

46 too and for me it's the song. I don't really see the cartoon much.

... And I will say Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. I'm in HR and should be PC, but I just can't be!
