In Washington, peak storm gusts reached 101 mph on the Megler bridge linking Oregon and Washington and 61 mph at Hoquiam on the Washington coast. They hit 114 mph on isolated Naselle Ridge in the mountains of southwest Washington, the Weather Service reported.

On the Oregon coast, strong gusts included 98 mph at Yaquina Head, 85 mph at Lincoln City and 80 mph at Newport, the Weather Service said. In Newport, the wind peeled back the roof of a restaurant.

The Weather Service reported 24-hour Washington rainfall totals as of Monday evening that included 4.09 inches in Bremerton, west of Seattle; 2.97 inches at Hoquiam on the Washington coast; and 6 inches at Cushman Dam on the Olympic Peninsula.

In Oregon, Lincoln City saw 3.55 inches of rain in 24 hours while 2.13 inches fell at the Portland airport and 2.08 inches in Salem. The Portland suburb of Hillsboro reported 3.42 inches, the Weather Service said.

Grand Ronde in the Oregon Coast range reported 6.10 inches.

In Portland, Weather Service meteorologist Kirsten Elson said powerful Northwest storms are not uncommon even as early as November. The storms, however, generally include either heavy winds or drenching rains, not both.

However, it looks like the rains are moving in to my area now.
Oh well, at least it's not snow.

NEWS FLASH WORST IS OVER UNTILL THE WEEKEND

Thunderstorms can be interesting and even sort of fun this time of year when there is no more fire danger. Sometimes you can catch a glimpse of a rainbow, they seem to be more vivid during the Fall than they are in the Spring.

TV Weatherpersons are now calling for scattered showers today, occasionally heavy, but nothing like yesterday. I guess we made it through another PNW storm.

That is not to say that there won't be more (and, how MANY more?) coming up. It's only November, it is rainy here until July 4.

Lots more opportunity for them to crank up that ol' HAARP machine.

YESTERDAY THERE WAS A 3.2 IN PORTLAND,OR AND THEN A 2.6 AS THE LOW MOVED OVER THAT AREA...
AFTER 7.7 IN QUEEN CHARLOTTS FAULT LINES HAVE WOKE UP FROM A DEEP SLEEP....
WE WILL SEE BY NEXT WEEK IF THIS CONTINUES TO BIGGER EQ IN PNW

as was discussed earlier in the thread, for the couple months since we had the autumnal 'snap' around the equinox clouds have been moving south to north (with the chemtrail layer above heading west to east), consistently. several people have noted this and it's an unusual pattern for this time of year...this storm is also moving south to north as it takes that dive out of the bering sea and comes back up along the PNW with the tropical aspect. this WILL bring severe weather to the upper states by friday.

ok this guy is a bit of a douche, he refers to it being an AR and in the same paragraph calls it 'pineapple express' which is BS because the PE is related to the JET STREAM and el nino conditions, whereas the atmospheric river scenario has a very different anatomy.

yep...45 days of rain...there is a huge amount of scientific research going into the ARKstorm scenario, all of it projected in california, so i find it interesting that it's the PNW that is getting it first.

The County of Ventura is holding an ARkStorm simulation, just as several other California counties have already done in preparation for dramatic climate change.

"The damages are going to far exceed any earthquake along the San Andreas Fault," said Jeff Pratt, Ventura County Public Works Director. "If we're not prepared, something close to a trillion dollars in damage."
