| GrizzlyBear User ID: 1267512 11/20/2012 02:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have lived in Northwestern Montana my whole life. This is not uncommon. Many times there are strong low pressure systems that get stuck in the Gulf of Alaska and just churn out moisture. It usually draws warmer air from the pacific, thus creating what we call the Pineapple Express. It will do this for up to 2 weeks before the low pressure either dips south or moves into Canada. When it gets fun for us here in Montana is when an artic cold front dips south from Alberta and mixed with the moisture! SNOW! Rule#4 Double Tap. [link to canna-copia.com] |

Of course as I write this, A RIVER IS RUNNING THROUGH MY FARM!!! Any person who feels like sending a prayer my way, to keep my crops from washing away, I would appreciate. I'd really like to be picking strawberries and raspberries next summer. |

That's what a lot of people said about sandy here in new York. Fill your tanks with gas and our governor warned these 100 year storms are now the new norm. On regular tv news!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17499076 Now the USGS is spewing propaganda. There's a reason the old-timers called it a "100-year flood", not a fucking "4.5 year flood". Now we're seeing new cloud types, new weather patterns, superstorms, record earthquake activity, all kinds of unnatural "natural" phenomena. Popular Myths about Flooding in Western Washington [link to pubs.usgs.gov] MYTH: A “100-year” flood only happens once every 100 years on average somewhere in western Washington. FACT: A “100-year” flood happens about once every 4 ½ years on at least one western Washington river draining to Puget Sound. ![]() MYTH: Flooding occurs randomly in time and location across western Washington. FACT: Floods cluster in time and location. MYTH: Rain-on-snow and wet soils are required to cause severe flooding. FACT: Rainfall INTENSITY and DURATION are responsible for ALL major floods in western Washington regardless of conditions prior to the event. |

Wind was high at times but I've seen worse. No power out or downed trees. Now that the front has passed, here come the individual cumulus clouds in the cold air mass. This morning one cell passed through with east coat type rain. Right now, the sun is out right now with a light breeze. About 50 degrees. Overall, not bad here. |
