Op how old are the kids?
Call up the school and complain about the teacher if it seems the teacher said something scary or offensive.
I'd be upset too.
I think I was in 5th grade when y2k was going on. I don't recall any of my teachers ever talking about collapse or something negative with the new year. I remember hearing about it from MSM and news at the time, but I imagine hearing it from a respected teacher would probably have freaked me out
